I would have never thought in a thousand years to use that side of the grit stone like that. This has been extremely useful. thanks a lot for this video.

Thanks for actually breaking down the impact your choice would have on the edge geometry!

Dude so glad I saw this, I had a tip to fix and in the past always ground from the cutting edge. But your method of grinding down from the back worked so much better.

Nice! I had never even thought about using the side of a stone like that

It's a great trick, happy to help!

Makes perfect sense! Basically just transforms the broken tip into little bit of lost length. I got a couple of projects to try this on!

Awesome, let us know how it goes!

Thanks for that. I’m trying to learn how to sharpen knives but it isn’t easy. I have an old set of fine, medium and course diamond plates but I think they are worn out. I also have some of those double sided stones with grit ranging from 400 to 1200 or something. Would you recommend Diamond over stone? What grit sizes and brands? Thanks. Paul

Would this method work if i just have the 220/1000 grit block? Is the 4000 necessary? Thank you!!
@KnifewearKnives17 күн бұрын
Absolutely, and 4,000 totally isn't necessary
@nukefoodsofficial5849Күн бұрын
So theoretically I could shorten a knife with an undesirable length as well?
@KnifewearKnivesКүн бұрын
Absolutely!

Title is too shorter so that's a great thing, KZbin recommends videos with short title. I've searched this but i hope I'll see you after some years when youtube algorithm recommend everyone this video.

fantastic work! best video i have seen on you tube thus far, could you show us how to do a dagger?
@KnifewearKnives3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! Unfortunately we don't sharpen daggers, so we wouldn't be the best folks to teach you.
