How to Fix a Broken Perfume Spray Nozzle

I was so bummed when I realized my new thrifted bottle of Dior Montaigne was a dud! No wonder the price. Luckily, with a quick search and a few tries at this and that, all is now well in the world.

I am absolutely elated! I have tried everything for YEARS to get to my favorite perfume which is quite pricey. I couldn't bear to chuck it in the bin so I've held on to it. Today, I watched a video of a guy wielding a hacksaw and I was about to do the unthinkable and then, my path crossed your video. You have made my entire day seem brighter at the end of the day and I cannot thank you enough. Thank you!!!!

Oh my gosh! I have the SAME PROBLEM with the SAME PERFUME! My bottle of Gris Dior stopped spraying and I called the boutique asking for fix recommendations since it's an expensive perfume....and they were no help. Thank you for sharing this, hoping it works for me. Shame on Dior for having such terrible nozzle quality!

Cheers! Yeah, I you are the second to mention Dior and nozzles together in a negative light... If it is indeed a quality control issue on their part, and not a fluke, shame shame indeed - shouldn't happen at their prices.

I had exactly same problem and after doing everything you have done in the video, almost gave up, then I came up with an idea to try, after all had nothing to lose. Take off the spray part of nozzle and turn bottle upside down. Press (up) down to get drops of perfume out and do it a good few times, I noticed that the little air bubbles in the internal part of the spray tube had completely cleared and now perfume sprays perfectly again and again. Try it!

If none of these prevail, you can also try an abrupt "hard" press to force the blockage out

thanks the ideas worked. i just pressed down on the vertical step in such a way that the liquid was able to squirt out through the opening. that eliminated the vertical stem and the pump below as the problem, so the cap nozzle may have been clogged

Hi, I received a new bottle of perfume but the wick (or ring/neck?) of the perfume came out and is stuck in the cap. Any idea on how to get it removed? I tried pulling with tweezers but the wick/ring fits perfectly in the cap and i don't know if it can come out T_T help please! My perfume still sprays, but I cant keep the cap back on because the ring makes it loose + sprays the perfume every time i put the cap back on.

Oh no! What a pain! I would try tweezers or something like that. But the good news is that if you cannot get it out, you could try simply puttin on another spray cap. Caveats: you'd have to potentially share with another bottle, it would have to be the right size to start with, and you wouldn't be able to put the bottle cap on any more. If you bought it retail, you could try returning it. Good luck!

Tried your advice from the video. I went and got a skinny needle and put it through the top of the perfume. Because the perfume spray top was not spraying. The darn spring ended up falling in the perfume. So now I think i'm going to have to get a new one, smh. It was worth the try. Thanks 😅☹️

Thank you, this is a great idea. What about if your little sprayer pump doesn't work on your refillable pump. I have one of the small pumps that you have in the video and it doesn't spray very good do you have that problem?

Yeah, the pumps come in different styles and formats so they all aren't interchangeable, so I think you have to "shop around." :)

Really? That part shouldn't be an issue... if so, it'l likely damaged. Not all metal pushy parts (haha - good description!) are the same, put you could try oe from another bottle if you have one. Aliexpress, Amazon, or Etsy might sell them if you want to risk that!

It doesn't actually matter. I just purchased the cheapest I could find, which happened to have a large capacity for liquid, which is good if you plan to decant, I guess! The openings for syringes are all the same - standard, I believe.

Search for travel flacon or travel atomiser, and the volume you want, like 5 or 10ml. There is a ton of options.
