I have several cracks in my driveway (exposed aggregate). If you want a better colour match I found that spreading dry, loose sand on top of the compound works well. It needs to be done quickly, a small section at a time, with some even pressure so the sand adheres properly. Leave it for 24hrs then sweep or hose off. It's more work of course but the result is durable, and the crack lines are far less noticable.

Great tutorial, Aaron! Thanks. I'm about to tackle a crack between steps on the front of my home entry where the slab jacking from 7 years ago has sunk, and this video was just the get-in-gear prompt I needed. UPDATE: 1 hour later the job was all done. Thanks again.

I used water proof clear silicon on a cement crack on my pathway. Yes the same one I use in the kitchen and bathroom. It stopped the cracking and has held up for the past 4 years. I used the liquid cement on a bigger crack but it eventually crack and fell apart a year later. Water proof silicone seem to do better.

Great tips. I have been repairing concrete for 38 years. 2 part epoxy also works great but very expensive. Also the crack MUST be very clean and dust free.
@steveswoodworking25045 жыл бұрын
How does it work when the cement is going to keep moving? Doesn't it break the epoxy open and now there's a new crack? My floor moves several times a year. The stuff he is using he said is flexible, so hopefully it wouldn't crack right open again next time there's movement. I've just never tried epoxy for a crack like that - it would be interesting to see how that works.

For a different crack, like mortar between cinder blocks in a basement (fire wall, not load bearing), would DAP ready mixed concrete patch in the plastic tub work? One of three companies said that the many small spider vein cracks the floor has do not need to be widened using a diamond blade before applying the filler.
