Thanks a million! I followed every step. Even checking all the pipes under the sink then realized my dishwasher has its own water source, but those pipes were NASTY and needed a good cleaning. In the end it was exactly the same problem. There was a Bobby pin (not plastic fork tine) caught in the pump. This has been a horrible week with things breaking so thank you for helping me fix this "on my own."

This video helped me so much. I was able to replace the drain pump, which had two pieces of glass in it. The glass had blocked the pump blades and burned up the motor. Without the video, I probably would've just spent $800-$1000 to replace the dishwasher. Also, I went thru your steps and cleaned my drain hose and garbage disposal, which were nasty and partially blocked at both. Thanks for the video and great job!

Thank you, this video helped me out so much. My water was not draining due to an incomplete installation of a new garbage disposal. The guy I hired to do the job did not punch through the drain line housing in the garbage disposal; thus; the water had no way to evacuate through the plumbing. Was able to in addition clean my drain line. Again thank you as you indirectly solved my problem when I saw all that gunk you pulled out of the disposal and I knew from my finger being in that same hole that there was a plastic seal there. I drilled through that and fixed the problem.

Question: In the first few troubleshooting steps you took looking for clogs in the disposal or sink drain, wouldn't you have been able to tell that wasn't the case if the dishwasher doesn't drain but the sink does? I'm asking because my sink drains but my dishwasher doesn't, so I think it must be a problem with the dishwasher train tube or the pump like in this video and I really don't want to have to take my whole unit out if I can avoid it

When I pressed the drain option I did NOT hear the motor run. Assumed it was a bad motor. When I opened up the motor nothing was found, but it was all gunked up with soap deposits. I spun the motor around a few times and then cleaned everything with vinegar, crossed my figures and put it all back together. Instantly heard the motor kick in when I hit the drain option. ALL GOOD! Definitely worth running a cleaning cycle monthly.
