Thanks a ton. I just bought a 96 Tacoma with this engine and there is a HUGE oil leak. I plan on replacing this and the valve cover gasket. Dealership wanted $400 for this repair. I can source parts for $30 -_-

Thanks a lot - your video helped a lot , i had trouble figuring how to remove the electrical harness , until i realized that the release clip was short & i had been trying to grip the whole thing with pliers / which was not necessary . just have to grip the small tab towards the front of the engine compartment - almost could have done with my hands in hindsight . also i had to remove my skid plate to access 19 mm bolt on crankshaft . realized

No, just oil it and put it on. I cut the old o-ring off since it was stiff and hard. The right tool to use would be a pick tool tho. Thanks

realized later that i could crank the motor from up above with the power steering bolt and view the timing mark at same time - with tranny in neutral

Well you'll probably have to stretch it a little bit to get it on. It should fit pretty snug.
