WOW!!! That was FLIPPIN WONDERFUL! A three minute tutorial to describe how to disassemble and to reassemble three different cartridges. Wow! I am so tired of those long tutorials for one thing. Thank you so much for this blessing! I’m actually saving it to my videos.😆😂🤣🙌🏻❤️❤️❤️

Worked perfect on my 20 year old faucet. I ordered the rebuild kit on Amazon and it took an hour or so (another hour spraying the set screw with WD-40 several times and waiting).

Thanks, this was short & sweet, but so fast over the very first step: taking off the handle of the single handle faucet. What kind of tool? Phillips head? Hex head? Pry bar? TNT?

Sigh... ok, I'm working on a kitchen faucet. But mine is leaking at the handle, not the spout. It was kind of gunky in there, so thanks for letting me know it's a tiny hex screw. I'm stuck; the handle doesn't want to come off. What exactly is resisting?

I think it would be really easy to work with a brand new faucet, like this helpful video shows, but try doing it to a faucet that maybe hasn't had any repairs for 10 years or more? I'd be willing to bet it would be a lot dirtier, messier and that one thing that always goes wrong that takes a 15 minute project and turns it into an hour? Still, the video does help...

Thank you. The little rubber seals with springs are most often the culprit. The man at the hardware store say's if the faucet begins dripping again within 6 months, then it is the ball that needs to be replaced.

These faucets are gleaming brand new. You may have to remove some scale or mineral deposits if your tap is old. Try a small wire brush. Don't go too crazy because you don't want to damage any seating surfaces. My faucet is 35 years old & works well after a cleaning & new parts, but it won't last forever. Some areas are getting pitted.

Probably to late but for others. Theres a tiny screw somewhere on the side, l wrench or some sort. Or theres a sealed cap ontop you can pop out witha flat heador knife

I popped the plastic that has 2 color to indicate water temp.. and like Nancy could not find the screw. there is a hole I put the screw driver in in hope of finding a screw I even turn the ball in all direction and stick teh screw drivere to see if it in any side of the ball but could not find it . I placed the s.driver inside and did not find anything... so the thing can't be lefted to change the rubber etc.. I do not want to force the handle it may break.. if you did solve it share here please.. thanks a guy above said he replaced his because he thinks some models cant be taken a part, but I believe if there is a hole it must be for some reason.. any ideal?

@@bobabooey285 thanks I notice that , when I tried 3 sizes one fit and snug but did not take out the screw... so I gave up on it, still leak from the side but lightly.. and they told me it is harder to change this system than the traditional knob faucet ... so I did not attempt to take it out and hanging on.. till find another solution, it work fine but leak from the "ball" so I avoid turning it right or left. any advice? if not, thanks anyways. Hi there! To fix a double-handled faucet, you'll want to disassemble the faucet and remove the valve stem. Then, install a new O-ring and replace the valve seat. You can also check out the link below for more detailed instructions🔧: www.lowes.com/n/how-to/repair-a-leaky-fauce

Instantly need help. The first step, they unscrew the handle with ease. I have a bizarre metal knob that's probably protecting the screw, and I'm not sure if I'm supposed to pop it out or what. DIY sucks ass every time.
@frankjones6406
@frankjones6406 6 жыл бұрын
So I pryed the extra metal piece out of the hole to find the screw, had an Allen wrench set, luckily, and was about to remove the handle. The cap was a struggle, but I forced it off with a rag and wrench. They simply pull out the ball like nothing, and i pulled up on it, but feel like there's more steps to unscrew and undo, based on it not moving at all. DIY sucks still.

And I finally finished the job, after $25 of parts and two trips to Home Depot. I replaced the cartridge, but that wasn't enough, so I replaced the o-ring set below the handle. This video was so far off from a real experience, it turned unhelpful.
