I purchased a rebuild kit for this carb, was not able to find the square cut o-ring by itself - www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0014CC9NY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I don’t see a new float in the rebuild kit? Wasn’t that the reason the float was filling up with gas, because it wasn’t airtight?

That is correct, the problem was a bad float, It took me quite some time to find the right one for this carb. It was discontinued from amazon so I removed the link from the description of this video. I am sure it's available on ebay but there are many variations on this part so you would want to find a part number from the manufacturer before ordering one.

Mine leaks when sitting. Is that what this one was doing?

Apologies for the delay in my response; I've been dealing with some personal issues. I'm looking forward to being more active again by January. Regarding your question, the fuel leakage issue is related to the float in the carburetor. When the float becomes submerged in liquid, it causes the needle to open and allow fuel continually into the carburetor bowl. When the needle remains open, fuel can flood the engine, typically overflowing carburetor and out air intake and spilling onto the ground.
