First, the common causes of a GE top-load washer to stop spinning include:
• Drain out pauses
• An open lid
• Unleveled appliance
Now, let’s look at the simple solutions to try;
Wait for the drain-out pause to end
Drain-out pauses are common on large washers and may extend to up to three minutes to allow the appliance to pump out tub water before the next cycle. The appliance will resume spinning automatically after the pump-out.
Close the lid
If the lid is open, the washer will display codes dE or E2 and stop spinning. To fix this:
• Close the lid firmly and press the START/PAUSE button to resume the cycle.
Balance the washer
To do this:
• Ensure the washer is on a flat, leveled surface.
• Rotate the leveling legs clockwise until they reach the ground, and lock them with the locking nuts.
