You are a lifesaver!!! Had the driver's side on my 07 Mega cab was leaking not three days after I bought it. Dealership replaced windshield three times before it stopped leaking (for six months). Wasn't going to take it back to stealer ship. Finally broke down and spent about two hours looking over everything and figured tube may be blocked. Noticed if my truck was parked leaning towards the passenger side, I didn't have any issues. Used compressed air and blew out hose as best I could. Seemed to work but had to repeat the process several times a year (16 years). Accidently came upon your video. Haven't repaired it yet but I'm going to do both sides asap. Really appreciate you putting this online 👍👍👍👍👍.

I thought mine was the windshield too. I didn't even know there was drain lines on the sunroof until I suspected that might be it, and looked it up on the internet. BTW there is drain lines on the rear too. Good luck and Merry Christmas.

Wow. That blue tube is terrible. I have a 2018 Ram 1500 Longhorn and I watch for leaks front and rear each time it rains, snows, and after Washing my truck. So far, there’s not been any evidence of sunroof leaks, only from my 3rd brake light. Thanks for sharing your experience!

just wanted to share an update mine had a completely different tubing in there also made of super cheap plastic. it had snapped off at the sunroof. your video was crucial and much appreciated. hopefully mines fixed now...cheers

Great video. Thanks. My line broke pulling the new one. I used 5/16 ID vinyl tube. I found my 18" plastic drain rooter and fed it from the top of the dash at an angle towards the hole. Was able to feel the tip. The fed the tip through. The tip is barbed and gripped the inside of the tube. Gently pulled it up. This took less than 5 minutes.

About to try to tear into this. Had water pouring out of my driver side sun visor screws running down the A pillar. The 5/16 ID tubing I’m finding is 7/16” OD

One thought I had when I saw hour weak that blue plastic tube was... Get a string that will fit down the blue tube. Use a vacuum cleaner from the bottom to suck the string through the tube. Then at the top, insert the other end of the string into the new tube and suck it through that one two. That way if the blue tube disintegrates - as you mentioned happened on the first one - you aren't fishing. (Sorry about the louse explanation.)

Is this the same for a 2005? Does the 2005 have the same water resistant backing on the headliner?

What length of 5/16” tube was cut for each pillar post? I better start preparing to change out my hoses too. After that, my next project will be the vents at the back of the cab.

If your old line breaks pulling the new line through. You can pop put your electronic harness next to the drain boot behind the door. Allowing you to get some fingers in there and further feeding it to the drain hole next to it.

There are drain tubes coming out of the rear of the cab also. I assume they come from the sunroof. Is there a way to clean these out? They exit below the rear window and up against the truck bed, making it very difficult to access them with a compressed air jet.

Maybe use a bent piece of 1/4 or 3/8 copper tubing to get to the hole and try blowing threw it. Good luck with it.

I believe OD, you would need to take a broken section of drain with you to the store to make sure.

There are similar drains at the rear of the cab---much harder to access...I have white mold growing on the carpet under my rear seat at the very back of the cab...Bad odor...Other videos show this issue...Terrible design by Ram---surprised an attorney has not filed a class action lawsuit (or at least a recall) to have Chrysler/Ram repair the bad design.

That's disappointing on the leak. I looked at replacing the rear and decided "If it ain't broke don't fix it". I just sold the truck a month ago and I will never get another sunroof.

getting real tired of all the cheap plastic on critical pieces that is designed to fail. the tubing you used it what the manufacturer should have used but I'm sure they saved 2 cents so they used the cheaper option.
