A cars suspension height when parked can give away whether the vehicle has plenty of fuel in it to steal suppose they could drill a hole in the tank or cut or disconnect a pipe but with petrol a bit risky.

Good to have gas cap that has separate key to car keys and keep it hidden separate in the car off the key ring so anyone steals the keys they're going to have problems putting gas in it.

Went a bit easier for me, started off with the smaller screwdriver and the whole outer half popped off along with the keylock, then I used the same screwdriver and a hammer to coax the inner ring counterclockwise until it would hand loosen. Good thing for that since I'm staying at my sister's house and she has no channel locks! A must add to the travelling car tool kit!

See mine is brand new and when i put it on and it clicks, It just comes right off it wont lock. Cant figure it out to save my life lol

I was thinking the same. My old one wasnt locking. Bought another, still the right one for my vehicle and even the new one isn't locking properly. Tried everything. Maybe it's just not it for me😂 it locked once but the first time I got gas I couldn't get it locked again

A locking gas cap will prevent someone that steals the car from filling it up with any luck but obviously they'll be going to fill it before it runs out so they're still going to have the chance to go somewhere to remove it out of sight, but helps if you don't leave tools in the car to aid them do that.

If they steal the car I don't think they are going to fill it up with gas. That would be a first...

Fitting an engine cut out switch inside a car disguised as a switch for another electrical item or hidden, helps prevent a car being stolen with the car keys or by electronically bi passing the immobilizer.

That would be more difficult with today's cars due to the computers in them, unlike cars for the 80 and back.

I have the opposite problem, my gas cap won't spin, it functions as a regular cap. This is a problem as our meth head neighbors think they can freely help themselves to our gas, tabs, catalytic converters, etc.

Suppose if you take out the spare wheel you could reduce the cars weight so that it doesn't look like there's plenty in the tank from outside.
