My flash wasn’t working and I was absolutely stumped during tonight’s wedding, luckily I carry two camera bodies with me so that saved me. It wasn’t till I got home just now to study what’s going one and found out my hot shoe is loose. Your video was first to pop up! Your a life saver!!!!

Thank you. I have been annoyed by the loose flash shoe on my EOS 650 for 30 years! Finally fixed in two minutes. Awesome!

Your video saved me $400. I was ready to buy another used 1DS mark II to use with my strobes, cause my hotshoe didn't work. Your video solved the problem. Thanks.

DUDE YOU ARE AN ANGEL IN MY LIFE! I have a big job in an hour and that litterally just saved me! worked perfectly on my 6D, but i didnt have the locktite, so i just tighten the scrools and it worked. thanks man!

That works on my 1DX MKII - but it doesn't work on the R5 - the screws are tightened from inside the camera - in other words the camera has to be almost completely disassembled to tighten those screws from the inside - Canon really screwed up the design with their R series cameras

My hot is completely removed from the r5 I owned now I don't know what to do.

Nikon as well. Wanted to buy a D700 & had to walk away from the sale as the plate was bent. If it was an easy fix, I would have bought it. Unfortunately half the camera needs to be taken apart for something so minuscule

THANK YOU!!!! The hot shoe on my Canon Rebel Xti has been loose for years and as the photographer for a small summer camp, I really need it to work. I thought I was finally going to have to buy a new camera, which I can't really afford right now, because the local camera repair shop is no longer in business and there's nowhere else local. I don't have any Locktite on hand and the hardware store is an hour away, but I was able to tighten the screws for now and will get some next time I go to town, or maybe on Amazon. Woo hoo, back in business!

Thanks, where can i find those tiny screws, mine is broken and i need replacement, what size?

I screwed up. Flash wasnt popping up. I looked up a YT video, but I was over zealous & removed one to many screws to the point of maybe no return. The two little swing arms & left spring are loose. Have you done the same? I just wanted to clean the dust from the crevices. Yes. I am upset with myself.

Any idea how to do this on an EOS R5?? I fixed my old 1D and 5D's no problem, but after getting a loose hot shoe last night on my R5 I pulled the top plate off this morning and there are NO SCREWS on the R5! Not sure WHY they would do this, but now I'm stuck having to work out how to get it fixed at short notice before a gig this afternoon. NOT HAPPY JAN!

For R5 and R6 canon has incorporated a different design unfortunately... the screws are inside the camera, you need to send it in for repairs. it involves removing parts of the camera. it seems to be a design problem, there are a lot of reports of this problem with r5 and r6. i know someone that had his camera repaired by canon and after 6 monts the screws came loose again...design issue
@PossMcLeod3 жыл бұрын
@@claudiutoader5938 Yeah I found some vids that showed the process, but I was like yeah nah, not doing that lol. And I'm not paying to send my cam away only to have it potentially happen again, so pissed off. I now only use my R5 for Video and daytime no flash photos. Oh what great value for a $7K camera lol. Canon I want my money back

@@PossMcLeod they should do a recall on this problem and fix it for free, the reports about it its growing...

this is a different model and the screws are inverted on the 6D mark ii. The heads are underneath the top cover that need to be tightened.this technique will not work
