I watched 3 videos that told me the same thing I have always done, tighten the bolt. I appreciate your video so much, I am so tired of getting on the toilet and having the seat move, over and over again. Thank you so much. Now, the trick is to find it.

I really enjoy your videos. Your words are concise with a happy attitude. The only thing I don't like is many times it seems as if you are teaching a child. To a guy it's a little off putting but it does keep all of your videos female and kid friendly which is a demographic most youtubers don't cater to. I can respect that. It's like watching Mr.Rodgers do DIY repairs. Your extremely friendly and positive attitude have me as a subscriber. For some reason I feel happier after watching your videos. :)

+DJDevon3 I agree with all that you say but I am a guy and find the teaching and simple presentation a help for allowing me to look at the fixes in a different light and it gives me new ideas and inspiration at times. It is for this reason that when I am doing a home or mechanical repair I talk it out with my wife when I am stymied or mental blocked even though she thinks she has no mechanical mind, (I disagree!), she can give me fresh insight to my problem and it is amazing how many times she comes up with great solutions and ideas.

Wow Australian toilet seats attach very differently.We have no Philips head end on the bolt.Our bolts are either attached to the hinge or cam shaped heads that lock down in the seat so they can fit multiple size bases.Good vid, love that angle for the bottom of the bolt.

@JrMeRcEr1004 жыл бұрын
Great teacher! (one detail - looking at your specific toilet seat, the cap is actually designed to release the seat via 'twisting the cap', not popping the cap off. NOTE: the top of your cap has a left/right arrow denoting remove/install directions. But if popping off the cap does not break any plastic - DOUBLE GOOD!)

Thank you for all the tips. I have two problems and hopefully you can give me some much needed advice. I just purchased an American standard toilet one month ago and the flapper does not always come down when flushed and the toilet keeps on running? Problem #2, One of the plastic bolts is striped on the toilet seat and I can not get the bolt to unscrew from the toilet as I want to get a different toilet seat. I have a very small bathroom, my house was built in 1938 and I do not have enough room to lay on the floor and attempt to unscrew the bolt from the bottom of the toilet seat. Any ideas on both problems? I really do not want to destroy the new toilet seat if I do not have to do so. Thank you in advance for any possible ideas, Steve
@seejanedrill7 жыл бұрын
You can take a hack saw and cut off the plastic bolts. As for the flapper, since flappers are relatively inexpensive, I would purchase a new one and install it.
