@bensappliancesandjunk
@bensappliancesandjunk 3 жыл бұрын
@@nmckinlay 5-7 days for UPS, 10-15 for economy. They are ERP brand which almost is always from the OEM factory or better, when possible. The original Samsung heating elements are from China, these are North American. The rollers from Samsung usually are Chinese, and these are Taiwanese... My experience is they are either at OEM quality or above it, even. I have yet to have a single problem with using them in our store, or selling them to customers.

You rock :) - order wheels and idler pully off your site. LIke everyone else, If I'm gonna tear it down and clean it I may as well replace the wear parts. You might want to add the belt to your kit as well. Amazon is always cheaper but you video is worth the price difference this time. Thanks. Cheaper than calling for a tech.

My neighbor also has a stacked set, and told me it added $150 and a week ( needs 2 guys to be free to get drum out) to get a diagnosis. Thanks to your video I attacked it myself. My Samsung was slightly different than yours, but your instructions really helped me to replace the idler (along with belt and rollers) in our Samsung dryer. I had no idea this was so "doable." Honestly, appliances these days get a bad rap for not lasting or being serviceable. I just have to say, this Samsung dryer is easy to take apart and replace parts on - and that's after having lasted for ten years without incident.

Thanks for the video. I just fixed our 7yr old Samsung dryer. In my case the squeaking was coming from the front lower wheel but I replaced all of them along with the pulley and belt. Nice to see all the components of a dryer for future reference. Should be easy to fix. FYI. I didn’t have to remove the back panel to replace the wheels. I was able to squeeze an open end wrench back there.

You forgot to mention something! If the drum rollers fail within a year of being replaced, it's likely the felt seal on the drum is too worn and needs to be replaced. Dirt is able to get past it and ruin the rollers. The hardest part was finding a felt seal that would work. I used a felt seal meant for an LG dryer in my samsung dryer and it worked just fine. The process of removing, cleaning and installing the new seal was pretty straightforward and it's lasted close to 4 years so far without needing further repairs. I'm not an appliance repairman myself, but I still have a Samsung front load dryer like this one from 2008. When the motor finally gives out, it'll be time for a speed queen.

Well done video. Have a squeal in my 9 year old Whirlpool that I suspect is the idler, but now I may order rollers as well. Not identical arrangement, but close enough to figure out. ** Thanks for stressing the importance of cleaning, that's exactly how to prevent fires aside from clean lint traps. Pull the cover and vacuum every 2-3 years ideally.

As soon as my new repair room is done I'll be shooting the same ideas for Whirlpool/Maytag dryers. Got a NASTY Kenmore (really WP Built) that had the rear bulkhead that holds the drum shred itself in half... Horrible thing... All caused by a $10 roller wheel. Quite literally, every dryer I've seen has a nearly-similar arrangement. 2-4 roller wheels. Idler pulley which anymore wear down fast. Some like GE/Frigidaire have drum bearings and wear pads that can go bad, but its almost the same identification system: If you have a noise, the drum will shred soon.

Hey Ben, I’m curious if you recommend lubricating the rollers (or anything else) with WD-40, white lithium grease, or any other lubricant OR if you actually do NOT recommend doing so? On my Samsung dryer, I didn't need to remove the plastic panel piece (:51), and was able to slip a 17mm wrench behind the rear bulkhead, so didn't have to remove the heating element or rear bulkhead (5:23). It frosts me that Samsung didn't use sealed bearings for the tension pulley or drum rollers; it's like Samsung designs in 5 year planned obsolescence at the cost of a couple dollar parts.

Do the blue and the red wire has to be at the same order before you take it off from the heating element? Cause before you removed the wire the Red power wire was on the top and when you go back to install it the Red power was on the bottom.

Hi Ben, this is a great video. Very easy to follow and the camera picture is very clear. I have a question for you. I have a gas 2015 samsung smart dryer. Do you know how to change the back two rollers without having to take the back panel out and removing the gas heating element? I have seen and heard I can just take off the white triangle and replace the wheels that way without removing the back panel. Is that true?

Yes, but you'll need a wrench to place behind the rollers to hold the rear nut in place while removing the shaft with another wrench. I thought about including that technique in the video, but didn't due to difficulty of filming properly. If you watch the video where the bulkhead is removed, you can see where the nuts are, and you can remove them w/o taking the element/bulkhead off. Thanks for the great question.

Thanks Ben, I will use a wrench and see if I can take the back rollers out to replace without removing the panel. Your video was very helpful.

The. Video was easy to follow but I wish u mentioned what section would make each kind of noise so we could order the parts before taking the machine Part

That's not going to happen. You have to physically take it apart to determine which part has failed. If you want to order parts ahead of time, just order the whole roller and pulley kit. Chances are, its all going to end up failing, and putting all brand new parts on will prevent you from needing to take it apart all over again in a few months or year.
