Hi Al Nice vid mate. I was just wondering, our roof tank makes this really loud noise, it vibrates the pipes and you can feel it through the floor. it's only just started doing it. Do you know why?

The roof tank valve washer is vibrating on the seat, just change the valve and all will be hush once again.

We've got a issue with water from our roof tank slowly stopping in our bathroom, we've checked the tank and it's full but no/low water. We think it's something to do with air bubbles as forcing water up through the tap fixed it briefly and just now blowing air through the tap seems to have fixed it a little. But if it is air, we don't know how it's happening.

If it is happening to all the bathroom taps then it is an airlock if it is just one tap then it is the tap faulty.

@@dereton33 We had a very slow toilet at work, which is now being used as a staff toilet. I'd checked the seat, and cleared a large lump of something from the nozzle. Watched your video and did the cup over the inlet tube and there's lots of pressure, but it was still dribbling out of the assembled outlet. The diaphragm washer is the type with no bits of plastic through it. The washer was old, not so flexible, and not really moving within itself. it was miss shaped. Changed the washer and now it's pouring out. Fill is now noisy in the pipes at the end, and needs a new inlet valve, but it was hard enough getting a washer from the maintenance team. Thanks for the cup over inlet tip :)

Use a outside tap on mains with a long hose which you connect to the cold tap .

What happens if the main stopcock is seized? acan I still take the float valve off or is the water pressure too high and it will go everywhere?

If the valve in on mains pressure then don`t dismantle it, (it will go everywhere) if it is tank feed you can get away with it ok.

We're having issues with our bathroom/roof tank. The water slowly gets less and less in the bathroom untill there's no cold water coming into the bathroom. Our landlord doesn't know what the issue is.

If it just one tap then that is faulty, if all the taps dry up then it is the roof tank ballcock faulty.
