Great video! Saved me time and money! And, man, I was CRINGING when you ripped that peg out! I had to close my eyes like I was watching one of the Saw movies…

Straight out of the box 2021 Gibson Les Paul Classic (made in May 2021) and the same peg you fixed is stripped on mine. Thanks for helping me to fix it.

Had a guitar just yesterday with both buttons stripped. So glad there is a simple fix

Thanks so much, Jake! Lent my dumbass friend my Fender Jazz Bass. Needless to say, I implemented two new policies after watching this - He shall never touch my bass again and always keep a tooth pick on standby... Thanks a lot dude!

I dip the toothpicks or drip wood glue in the hole to make it more permanent.

I believe that with more electric guitar bodies being made of soft wood like basswood this will continue to be a problem. Thanks!

I guess in a jam this would suffice, but I feel that there is a right way and a wrong way of "fixing" , and this is not that. Fill hole and rescrew.

At this point, since it’s already stripped, wouldn’t it just be a good idea to just go to strap locks? You can still use toothpicks to add wood, but strap locks have longer screws, no?

Just tried this on a Gretsch electric 12-string. It doesn't work. The screw won't even catch and the broken end of toothpick will just fall inside the guitar.
