Patrick from Patreon. The spreaders gave me nightmares as I went in blind thinking I know how all parking brakes go together... Nice work.

Thanks so much for taking away the mystery of the ebrake , something that has been written online to be almost impossible for a diy mechanic to even contemplate fixing themselves. Good luck with the brake bleed 😂 my least favourite job ever 😊

Thank you, I'm glad this helps. It's a messy job, but important. Now that my parking brake works I'm less likely to leave it on! I actually rarely use it as It's pretty flat where I live.

Great video! I have an '87 Coupe in the same color as yours! I've been dreading the e-break resto, but your detailed information gives me the confidence to get the job done. Off to Pelican I go to order parts!

Oh cool, I randomly parked next to a coupe the same color a few months ago. Is your name Rod? He left a note on my car! Be prepared to fight some springs. If you're having trouble getting the castle nut back on loosen the 17mm lock nuts all the way. That makes it much easier because there's a spring fighting that one too.

Crazy that the parking brake system didn't change at all from 65 to 89.

Nice work as always. I need to go through mine as well, but being inboard, a bit tough to get at. Maybe this Spring. 😁

That jag independent rear suspension and brake setup is so cool

@@GarageTimeAutoResto it's only downside is the exhaust pipes so close to the brakes.

Great timing - mine (on my '78 SC) has been getting less "brake" like and wanted to take a deeper dive.

Great video but I was taught to always depress the button on the hand break when tightening it and release at the top - I assume to not wear the ratchet.

Good idea, however I have never seen or heard about a worn out brake ratchet

Hello Professor, how do you feel about DRY ICE blasting the engine, trans, and suspension to remove grime?

I love the technology although it's expensive. My opinion is don't do it for a driver level car that is exposed to the elements. For a show car or very rare car it's worth it. 356's rust from the front first because the back is covered in an oil film, ha ha.
