I have been dealing with this for over a year now and the massage technique really helped. My tendon was actually "thickening" and was visibly noticeable. Once I started using a narrow diameter foam roller on my calf muscle the relief was pretty much immediate. I am actually watching my achilles shrink back to a normal diameter these last 3 weeks. 2-3 times a day I roll the calf 100-150 times with moderate pressure while sitting and it has totally turned the tide. I can't tell you fellows how much I appreciate your advice I only wish I had found this particular video sooner. You guys have so many helpful videos it took me a while to find the "achilles tendonitis" vid that suggested a foam roller, which was the deal-maker for my situation. Thanks a million, gentlemen.

You guys are wizards. I’m doing a work up for an ultra marathon and after a few heavy speed sessions I started developing Achilles pain, all signs pointing to achiles tendinitis. I’ve tried lots of stretching, essential oils, calf massage, a week off running, and nothing worked. 2 months of lingering stiffness and discomfort. Literately did this tendon massage 1 time and the next morning there was NO stiffness and all symptoms were significantly reduced. I’m blown away. Will keep at it and definitely subscribed. I could barely walk and definitely not run or even touch the tendon. As well as doing eccentric calf stretches and gradually increasing the load on my tendon I ended up having deep (painful) massage therapy to my gastroc/soleus + Storz shockwave therapy to my tendon at the Fay Pedler Clinic in Plymouth. I am now in physical therapy for it, they did an xray said spacing looks good, but I have yet had an MRI.. I can tell you the inside of my knee has tightness, and right now a little bit of pain here and there.. It's now been a little over 1 week... I finally can walk some without crutches.. BUT on day 4 after this happened. I was using my crutches, I stepped off a curb and went a little to quickly, and when I did my foot went down and caught myself on my toes.. I felt instant SHARP pain in the back where the archilles tendon is... very sharp..taking steps after that hurt.... I wanted to cry, , now my other foot/leg is hurt.. not every step was hurting,, and it seemed to kind of to not be as a stabbing pain, kind of going away,, but in therapy they had me on my toes, and I felt the sharp stabbing pain again,, then again today did it again, and it really hurt,, now after sleeping and waking up,, I needed to go to the bathroom, and it was sharp and stabbing pain trying to get up and walk,, I don't know what to think.. Could it be a rupture, a tear?? the major pain is when I am on my tip toes.and seemed to really aggravate it... I'm not sure what to do... please help me..

I cannot believe that just rubbing that tendon on the sides by the ankle took my pain away. I was walking around a downtown area 3 weeks ago for about 8 hours total all day with friends and family and the next day I had terrible pain. Ended up going to urgent care three days later just the heel of my left foot was hurting so bad I couldn't put any pressure down I'm getting up in the morning putting my foot down on the ground after getting out of bed almost caused me to completely collapse. Urgent Care said achilles tendonitis told me to stay off of it put it up and ice it. It's almost 3 weeks later and I followed up with my doctor because it hasn't gotten any better at all. He said it could take up to 4 weeks to heal and after that I might even need physical therapy. My heel is the only part that's hurt not the calf muscle or even the area around the ankle. I haven't been able to wear any shoes with the back because the rubbing kills. I did that about 3 minute massage until I thought my fingers were going to fall off and my heel feels a thousand times better!

🙉the spot problem little bit lower mr Bob & Brad..but very painful 😅 45 painful regular muscles treatments gave me understanding about treatments, massages, muscles functions ... ..Fibrosis is the formation of excess fibrous connective tissue in an organ or tissue in a reparative or reactive process. This can be a reactive, benign, or pathological state. In response to injury, this is called scarring, and if fibrosis arises from a single cell line, this is called a fibroma. Physiologically, fibrosis acts to deposit connective tissue, which can interfere with or totally inhibit the normal architecture and function of the underlying organ or tissue. For one thing, while many people do calf stretches and exercises they don’t think much about developing the front of the shin, tibialis anterior. Which is where walking comes in. The tibialis anterior is a key muscle in walking and a person that walks well probably need not think about working this muscle because proper gait patterns keep tibialis anterior toned and supple. But this blog exists to tell you that you don’t walk correctly. People that stand and walk well create a natural balance between the calf and the front of the shin that allows the achilles tendon to live a fairly uncomplicated life. Instead one of two misalignments is likely to be happening: A hyperextended knee which angles the achilles tendon chronically backwards. Tights hips which pull the knee and shins sideways when walking force the achilles sideways as well. Either of these two factors-hyperextension and tight hips-can lead to a chronically stressed and short achilles tendon that might well break down in an acute situation when you need a burst of speed. Walking, standing and running require the feet to land under the knees, which allows the achilles tendon to work smoothly.

Don’t touch it if is tear. Rest Ice and taking pain relief until is massagable. . Massaging when is tear would make it swallow.

I've had this a couple of times over the years, and rest and putting my whole foot in our pool...cold water and rest...😊

my therapist told me no way to do this. I bought one of these and she told me not to use it. I used the shockwave button and she told me off for that and for cross friction massage, I think im going back you guys.

Try stretching while at work but half mot long enough. On my feet or 6.5 hrs a day seems to stiffen up when I do sit down for lunch

Gentlemen, I adore your videos and find them quite helpful. What would you recommend for gastrocnemius tendinitis lateral aspect. The flexion on my right stifle is decreased from an accident I had a good 20 years ago where I fractured my fibula and tibia at the joint. I have not been able to get the anterior aspect of my stifle to extend whereby the back of my knee touches the ground.
