Cool. When I first started experimenting with the 83/45, I got that detent pin stuck in the bible 2 or 3 times, just from being such a novice at that time (5 years ago), and being in a hurry. I ended up drilling a tiny hole in the bible to solve the problem. I was so proud of myself!! LOL

Just throwing this out there. I didn't have a pick small enough. I used a sewing pin and Dremel. The ball at the end made it easier to maneuver. The needle is soft metal so it doesn't take much to make it thin out enough to wedge in.

Thanks for sharing. Managed to fix mine after watching this. I used a thin pick rather than a knife. Just wiggled it in the gap you showed while pulling & trusting core. Popped out on a few seconds.

Awesome! I'm glad it helped.

Thanks for this! My shims seem too thin, and my 0.5mm picks seem too thick (and aren't broken)... I'll have to get some feeler gauge to try to do something like this. I got mine stuck in chamber 1 and I can see the detent, but it's an awfully tight fit. Anyone know a good thickness for this?

I just bricked an abus 888 core. I repinned it, and in the way back in my follower and core just stopped at pin 5.(6pin lock) it is now stuck. My guess is that a driver pin got stuck in a fake hole somewhere. Time to buy a new one I guess.

Nah there's got to be a way to fix it. I have an 888 in storage that I can tinker with in a few days. I'll see what I can come up with. In the meantime, check to see if this method applies: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqmUdJl5bamKj5Y

@@bleh222234 That's not quite what my issue is. My key is stuck and one of my driver pins lodged into the side hole for construction keys next to pin 4. I tried to shim it to no avail. I should have slid in the core at the 12 o'clock position, I think I ended up at the 10 o'clock position.
