HOW TO Fix an iPhone 12 Pro Max Front Camera Without Losing Face ID. Decouple Method.

The selfie camera on this iPhone 12 Pro Max is not working. You open the camera app & you get a black screen when flipping to the front facing camera (FFC).
After testing with a new front cam, the front camera is working! BUT it’s not so easy to just replace it, as it’s stuck inside a metal bracket. So the only way to fix the camera issue is to decouple the front camera and replace it with the new one.
But you have to keep the original IR Camera and original TrueDepth Camera, also known as Dot Projector or Dot Matrix camera.
In the video, I walk through the full process to decouple the front camera and install a new one, without losing Face ID.
This method works for all iPhones with Face ID.

Great work on that. for the welded corners, side cutters or a grinding pen. To remove the Front Camera, press on it Firmly from the front of the front camera (Lens side) and it pops right out from the back. No heat required.

Hello Ali from India as an iPhone repair technician. I'm pretty amazed to see you using that cutter for cutting solid steel plate an easy way but it wouldn't be fixed again right good job 👍🏻 For glue hard you can just simply blow the air from your mouth to glue hard this is what I'm doing here 😅

Hi Jesse, first of all thanks for the video and how well you explained it. I have a little problem, I followed all your steps and for some reason after finishing the repair I get the "Face ID is not available. Try again later". I've tried every solution I've found in the internet: cleaning camera, trudepth and dot sensors, reseting face id, reseting the iPhone, updating it, even reinstalling the firmware, but nothing works. However, it is a little bit strange because after reseting or reinstalling the firmware, the first time when I'm setting the face id everything works and after that if I try to use it, it doesn't work, and if i reset it and try to set it again it doesn't work. I don't know what may be happening but I would aprreciate very much your help or any other's. Thanks in advance

Hi Jesse nice work but in my meaning it s best to protect dot projector and IRCam and the is to way to pop front cam the one do you did and anther way to put some hit and push from the front of front camera then will pop up easily but any way it works this is the important thing ❤😊

iphone 12 Pro Max, my depth sensor is dead, front camera works. So i use speaker phone all the time since the screen wont turn off during phone call, no face ID or profile pics. I think there is someone close to me that can fix it since it's my daily driver still, but maybe I should upgrade. I don't know.

That sounds like a bad proximity sensor, not true depth camera

It would be better to use grinding pen to cut the metal piece (which you hVe cut) so, dont have to use heat it and also easy to glue it bCk . 🙂
