2:40 there is no wait after the paste is applied.....simply use a lemon seed sized amount, spread it on with a finger, try either circular or straight rubbing motions ( a claim made elsewhere by somebody that circular motions causes more damage is dubious) for a minute or two. The key word here is POLISHING..... then rinse it off, possibly followed by a final wipe with a tissue moistened in rubbing alcohol. On videos elsewhere the up loader seems to think they are frosting a cake, not applying a small amount of toothpaste to the disc.

I tried this method on my very scratched up NASCAR 2011 The Game disc and the first time it didn’t worked so I repeated the method and put it in my Xbox. It couldn’t read the disc so I cleaned it with a wet cloth bc it was pretty fogged up. After that I put it in my Xbox and it worked! Thank you so much I can now play one of my favorite Xbox 360 games and it’s all thanks to you!

Circular motion is BAD with discs! ALWAYS center to edge as you want to go counter to how a disc is read by the laser. Minor scratches can be skipped over but when you rub one in that direction it risks adding to the existing scratch/issue and exacerbating it. From application to drying them always center to outer rim! and definitely don't twist a disc on a towel to dry it off (for the same reason)! its a miracle you have not made some scratches worse with that alone!

This actually worked. All I could think of when reading about this, is wow im not stupid. Playing Red Dead thanks to you. Funny story, my friends younger brother was unbearable. Would hog Xbox whole time playing single player halo. And if you did play split screen he'd rage quit and turn off Xbox. So we convinced him that if he put peanut butter on his halo disc and then put in microwave for 2 minutes. He'd have some unlocks or something like that. I never laughed so hard, as his disc went up in flames.

For light scratches yes this will work with toothpaste’ just a little goes a long way’ However he uses like a terry towel to dry’ Honestly surprised that didn’t scratch it more lol’ USE A MICROFIBER towel or one of those stretchy cloths for cleaning sunglasses lenses I got my when bought my oakleys not sure what that cloths called but a normal towel is bound to leave scratches’

How can rubbing toothpaste on a cd recover anything I thought ! I was wrong to think that. A track on my cd was skipping but I tried the toothpaste idea and hey - it WORKS ! .. couldn't believe it.
