You saved me my friend. Brand new build was acting up on the firmware it came with when using beta 4.3 motors jittering, and getting hot within seconds. So I flashed to different firmware, and lost my gyro. I re flashed to a legacy version of the firmware, and bang all good. Now running fine, and got my gyro back. No overheating or jitters either. Iflight beast h7 AIO by the way if others have problems. Thanks so much for the info.

I am running a HGLRCF722 I flashed to 4.3 rc6 was getting hot motors and twitchy behavior so I tried to flash back to 4.2.11 …boom no gyro What legacy firmware did you use? I’ve tried to load 4.1 but it still had the problem of no gyro found Personally I think 4.3 is nowhere near ready for use by anyone but the developers

What perfect timing. I've got a new fc with a bad gyro and you put out the video I've been looking for. Got a free replacement fc on the way. They suggested trying to replacing bad gyro. Nothing to loose, happy repairing 🤓

it's really advantageous to have a microscope for soldering. I've paid off my cheap Banggod one about three times with the boards I've fixed. Sometimes really frustrating but worth it to learn. I built my own heat gun from a youtube vid. Swabs, alcohol, flux....and patience. Always toss some kaptan tape over the other components you're not working on so you don't blow them away. Once those tiny caps and resistors get loose, they will move without you seeing and maybe just blow off the board if you're not careful, and then you may as well toss the board as opposed to try and figure out where they all go.

LOVE THIS VIDEO!! Thank you -- first time i ever removed and replaced a multi-potted circuit like a gyro. Unfortunately my attempt was not successful as in when I removed the prior gyro --- either i did it or it was already faulty (my suspicion based on the INSANE number of bad betaflight AIO boards i've been frying out lately) --- I can cleary see one tiny pad in the upper right corner is missing its tin -- ie it can't be soldered or i need to find the direct-connection for that point and skip over the circuit pot link --- i can see i've cleary re-linked all the points, kept the capacitors in place, and still no gryo --- i assumed the attempt would fail once i saw a bad pad on the bottom --- but it was worth the try just for the practice. You're a mad man using that scope lol -- i don't have one, am old and can't see crap these days --- took off my eyeglasses and pulled it off naked-eye at about 3 inches distance LOL. Thanks for the education :) This board flew twice, got strangely glitchy on the 2nd flight --- and died out on third flight just fell out the sky on me :( --- was a 3 inch toothpick on the ELRS V1 board --- these things suck honestly --- anyways was bad gyro after that probably cooked from not soldering up a capacitor on the lipo --- using xt connector so too much jolt i guess but come on guys its a 1s lipo for cripes sakes.

Great video. I was looking at Bardwell's video on the nogyro message and he basically said get a new fc if what he showed doesnt work which it didnt, i am a newbie so im not really aware of what causes such issue, the issue accured on a brand new mobula6 whoop and so i couldnt beleive that the gyro was fried, luckily it was the firmware which i had been switching around while getting used to the betaflight configurator and binding things, Thanks once again for this amazing video

@DrainMan FPV hey I have the no gyro issue on emax mini magnum 2 quad was flying came in to land and it freaked out came down rolling over sideways I put in fresh battery and now won't arm and says no gyro on screen I will try using floor noise setting but anything else to recommend?

What if you have a gyro that shows X and Y, but no Z-axis in Betaflight 4.3? the quad just spins to the ceiling when I give it power? is it dead? or could it be some other switch or control somewhere I'm missing?

It is something that we cannot all do, because we do not have a magnifying binocular, but I imagine that any amplifier that exists today that serves as a microscope, and can be seen on the phone... but a few questions, since I don't understand English very well, especially when they speak so fast for my level...lol. the questions are... will any gyro from any other plate work? . after a small bump the board ran out of gyro therefore I lost the flight modes... another thing is, what temperature does the air heater have to reach, and what substance do you put on the chip. I don't know if you can answer me but it would be very important for me. thank you.. a greeting friend.

Hey Drainman my Betafpv Meteor85 is not showing the Gyros on firmware BF 4.2.11 which is the original FW that my whoop shipped with. If I load a higher BF 4.3.0 I get the gyros back but nothing else works. What am I doing wrong?

I have a board that the servo's cant be activated in betaflight, and then I tried to swap to emuflight, and the servos can be activated there, but it has no gyro with any firmware I can find, it's fine in betaflight...what's up with that anyone know?

Really in my head there's no solution for a bust pad on the board that the gyro attaches too -- its basically too small to bridge the bust pad to where it needs to go.... :( Another lost FC after less than 3 flights! Just looked -- its CLKIN PIN 1 where the pad is broken -- how can I repair that - the gyro is probably fine, just a bad pad and pin connection.
