I like the bolt idea. I epoxied a large paper clip to the battery door so that a loop of the clip stuck out opposite the hinge end. I looped a rubberband through the lanyard attachment point. Pull the rubber band through the paperclip loop. The paperclip loop keeps the rubberband in place on the battery door. You can stretch the band to the bolt as shown here, or to the other end or top of the camera. The bolt isn't needed. My battery door was cracked in the middle so the paper clip and epoxy reinforced it.

i have little other model but this works.. only suggestion, after bolt loop try to tight /loop around the frame..

Better than having a bolt on the bottom of the camera in the way. The tape is easy to remove and replace, and most important not visible. Easy peasy.

Bluesbabesrv actually there is a lot of pressure at the door so the tape can't handle it.I tried it before.

deepTech _ Not scotch tape but clear packing tape works great and is strong enough to hold. Doesn't leave any sticky tape residue either.
