How to fix Chevrolet Aveo Speedometer not working.

Which fuse goes to the speedometer and the cruise control? That is the first thing to check the fuse. The sensor gets its power from somewhere.

So I have a 2010 Aveo five speed that was in the flood and is now experiencing that problem how much of a problem is it to replace the gear? I usually do all work myself.

It's also making the car going to limp mode when driving won't rev past 3,500 RPM unless you reset the computer and then it's only temporary

To replace the output speed sensor inside the transmission is it necessary to remove or disconnect the transmission

great video,i have a 2009 aveo and replaced output speed sensor and also input speed sensor.i check for coolant in transmission and there was none.also checked gear in transmission that it was turning in gear.also checked to make sure the gear was not loose in transmission and it was not loose.the output speed sensor it looks like it get a ground pulse from transmission ecu.could be the transmission ecu? thanks

No most likely not, its probably a problem with the speed sensor, wiring or the speedo gauge itself

Does that internal plastic speed sensor gear (on the differential) exist in the manual transmission? I'm having skitzo spedo issues.

I've got a manual transmission. Sometimes the speedometer doesnt work, sometimes it shows double the speed. I've changed the small gear box, the sending unit, and the instrument cluster. What am I overlooking?

Why on earth would you get a new transmission instead of replacing the drive gear for the spedometer which is in the differential portion of the transmission?

Is there anyway to tell if it's the speed sensor and not transmission issue? The speed sensor is $200 to replace but I don't want to replace it and not have it fixed.

I know this is 4 years old but for anyone wondering i just turned the car on with the sensor out and plugged in, used a code reader or someone in the car to see if it is detecting speed when i turn the gear with my hand

My 2011 aveo has this problem . coolant in trans and speedo not working. What is the trick to removing the Torque converter bolts from the flexplate I've removed the starter and I can't even see the bolts!! The Chilton just says to remove the bolts. Not how to access them .Help me please. I've removed many transmissions, but not this one.

hello sir ,i hav chevy cruze. and its speedometers shows half of speed thn actual speed of car.. like,even when car runs of 80kmph ( kilometers per hour ) metre only shows speed of "20" or "30" kmpl.. any suggestion sir??

As soon as I purchased my auto Aveo I installed a separate trans cooler cause when I puchased the car it had an overheating problem and I was afraid of the coolant mixing with the trans fluid like in this vid.

on my 2011 the whole cluster was out . the problem was the trunk light and clust share the same fuse .i had shorted it out earlier when i was in trunk .the light assembly likes to short out on the frame.

My 2008 Chevy aveo LS isn't shift from 2nd/3rd/4th and it only shifts from 1st/2nd. When I let off the gas. The speedometer isn't working either.

Watched the video but my Aveo has lost its speedometer and has issues shifting into 3rd but I do NOT have infiltration of coolant in my ATF. I tested it with UV Dye and no leak. So now what. I dont know where to start Thanks

I’m having the exact same issue with my 2009 Aveo currently. It seems to have the exact symptoms as this video, along with it being in limp mode and not shifting beyond 3rd gear. Tried replacing the output speed sensor with no luck. However, there is no obvious contamination of the transmission fluid. Is it possible to be having this radiator/leak issue without my transmission fluid changing colour or appearance at all?

@@jasonwood102 ya it was the pressure silinod valves in the transmission if those go bad or get residue build up on them. They can't open and close like there suppose to. Mine wasn't putting out any codes but found out they were just stuck luckily.
