Bad Throttle Position Sensor (Most Common)
Wiring
Bad Throttle Body
Bad Accelerator Position Sensor
Bad PCM
If the throttle body or sensors are replaced, the PCM may need a Relearn Procedure.
Chevy/GMC Throttle Body Relearn Procedure
Start and Idle Engine for 3 minutes.
Turn it off for 60 seconds.
Start and Idle Engine for 3 minutes.
Turn it off for 60 seconds.
Start and drive over 45 MPH for 3 minutes.

My 2010 Chevy Silverado did this LAST January. After clearing the code, no issues again all year... until last night. Driving from Wisconsin to Missouri it happened twice. Any clue why it's so sporadic like that? Definitely want to get it figured out.

Message for Juangiles. Same here 2011 Malibu. New throttle body and pedal sensor still goes into limp mode. I checked wiring it's fine. But my transmission is going out. Jerks on 1st gear that's when it sets code. I can't think of anything else. I looked up everything

I changed my sensor and it went into limp mode. Swapped it back and it never happened again. Was just seeing if it would get rid of the terrible lag

Any help please! I’ve changed the throttle body and sensor, accelerator pedal sensor, checked the wiring everything is good from what I can tell no loose wires. And the code goes away for couple of days after I installed each sensor and then comes back.. what could it be?? I never did the whole “relearn procedure” I usually just turned it on let it run for a couple of minutes and then drove it around the neighborhood and the code would pop up for the first few minutes then went away for a few days then just always comes back

My truck is 2003 Chevy 1500. Dealer told me on driver side fuse box inside truck, there would be a couple tiny terminals that would go bad. So now dealer just replaced 15 tiny terminals cause of being old and corroded. See if that helps. REDUCE ENGINE POWER all the time. Could fix until I took it to dealer

@@condor5635 it’s right there as you open the door there’s hidden panel with fuses and things behind it not hard to get to at all.

@@ramiallen6443 thanks I understand where the fuse panel is. That wasn’t really my question. My question is when he said he replaced tiny terminals. Does that involve removing that panel or is that something he’s saying they did from the front once you remove the door to the fuse box.

Seal around antenna may be bad and moisture may be running down near fuse box on left side of dashboard. Check to see if this area appears rusty.

If the engine doesn't start, check your fuses and be sure the battery is charged with good terminal connections.

@ yea I boosted the car it worked cause I also changed the whole throttle body I go home do an oil change try to start it it does the same thing later the next day I boost it it works again the day after that it does the same thing but boosting it didn’t work I try boosting it the day after that that it works and it hasn’t done that since which is really weird😂

I have a 2012 malibu. I've been dealing with a p2135 code. I replaced the throttle body,the plug to the throttle body,the accelerator pedal,and the map sensor. I sprayed all the connections with contact cleaner and dielectric grease and Istill get the code. Any suggestions?

Just had my 2003 Chevy 1500 with same damn issues, mechanic at Chevy dealer said he knew exactly what was wrong. On driver side, there is a small fuse box, he replaced 15 tiny terminals to the fuse box. Said some terminals would always go bad. So he replaced all of them. Truck great until 2 days later and this stupid pedal position sensor took my truck back into REDUCED ENGINE POWER. Almost done getting rid of this issue

GM released a Service Bulletin saying plugs are susceptible to moisture. Just read that the seal around the antennas are not great, and if there is rust near the fuse box then a moisture lean near the antenna is probably the culprit which means resealing the antenna and figuring out if any other parts need to be replaced because of moisture damage

It depends on the computer memory type, but it likely will need to relearn. Usually, it's not a big deal; driving it around and the computer will relearn on its own. You can Google the relearn procedure for your year of Cruze.
