@@luizhribeiro Do you have any advice on how to set color grading with 709-A? I looked at a project I made before where I brought a jpg in for part of it and I can see a clear difference when opening the original jpg in Preview, so this is not even a matter of app video color interpretation. I've hear those color bar images used as a way to correct but haven't tried that. It seems there must be a LUT somewhere to correct everything 100% to how it should be.

Just a little correction. Don't put your timeline in Rec.709A, you are limiting the range of colours in which you edit. Put the Output settings in Rec709A. Your timeline should be in DavinciWideGamut (or whatever color space you prefer to edit in). But other than that, this was the information I needed after switching from PC to mac
@luizhribeiro2 ай бұрын

Works for renders. But when i export stills im getting the same issue. Is there away to export your stills in the rec709A format?
@steveharmancambridge6 ай бұрын
Brilliant. Great video. One small thing, When I first tried the advice in your video it didn't work for me. Then I went bak and noticed that in my project, "Output color space" had a defined value of "Rec.709 (Scene)" - so simply changing the Timeline color space didn't have any effect . In your clip it shows "Same as Timeline" for the Output color space. The important part seems to be having Rec.709-A in the *Output* color space. Which was fine in your example as Rec.709-A was inherited from the Timeline color space setting anyway. hth someone!

Hey, I film on s-cinetone and I just updated davinci and now all of the clips look really contrasted when importing them in davinci, on colour management it's set to Davinci yRGB and then Rec-709-A and in general use mac display is selected. Any tips would be really appreciated, thank you

better use wide gamut for timeline colorspace, and leave rec.709-A for OUTPUT color space - this way you'll get more leeway for color correction and grading.

the easiest way is to use Davinci YRGB color managed, and also tick "automatic color management" box. Then select rec.709-A as output colorspace (not timeline). And in any scenario if you suspect that something is wrong you need to go right-click on your media file and check if proper INPUT color space and INPUT gamma are selected - and for rec.709 files the INPUT gamma should be rec.709-A - it won't autotag correctly each and every time, so you need to be on the look out for that.
