Hey bro I’m new at this whole welding and I’m sorry if I sound stupid but it’s all new to me, what type of welder do u think a brand new person like me should start with? I know nothing about welding or the type of materials needed. Any feedback from u will be greatly appreciated

I’d get a entree level mig welder and go from there. I think hobarts are the best bang for your buck!

@@pop_pops_garage ok sounds great. So to do the type of welding u do in the video what type of rods are needed to weld aluminum? I know tungsten is needed right?
@pop_pops_garage Жыл бұрын
@@EddieGines this kind of welding is called tig welding. i wouldn't recommend learning with this. mig welding teaches you the basics and its alot cheaper to learn. if you like it then move to tig.

What setting are you running on the machine ? I don’t weld aluminum at my job we do mostly carbon and stainless but I got a cracked wheel I intend to fix. Thanks in advance

Every machine is different. I’m not 100% sure with mine inset it and forget it. I very very very very rarely change settings on my machine. I will say i run 220v

How big of a crack is to big to fix? Mine almsot goes half way through the rim but I don't think it's all the way through. Thoughts?

Better trash it before it explodes if it even holds air.

@Jesus Hade'nough it's been over a year, no serious wreck happening over it. Nearing 1000 miles sense. Appreciate the concern though

What grade of aluminum are wheel typically made out of?
@pop_pops_garage2 жыл бұрын
They are all different. Stock wheels are always cast, 2 and 3 piece wheels are different.
