Superb video. Very many thanks! Your video has now given me a lot of confidence to fix a badly cracked bumper on my Suzuki Jimny. I was impressed that you knew to stop-drill the ends of the cracks - very important as it de-stresses the area. Stop-drilling works on cracked metal too. Many thanks!

Drilling the end of the crack is something I wouldn't have thought of. I probably would have tried one sided duct tape and 1 sided fiberglass, then remove the duct tape and do the other side. I have worked with epoxy and have used a digital scale to measure out 2:1, 1:1, what ever by weight, which allows me to make small batches.

My dude. This is such a great method!! And not to expensive for the shop!! But the second bumper you talked about, the rear side grills are black. And stand out! The long bottom one you should pop out and paint it a good quality gloss black!! It really does make a difference!! I work at a shop to. I fix eeverything that's needs fixing!!

Good job, I could add something that works better for you’r glassing. When patching the bumper use a smaller glueing coat of epoxy around the splitting opening. This welds the crack and mesh fiber glass to the splitting bumper. Now use a larger cloth patch to cover over the smaller extending past enough for strength. Remember to use polyester resin with this larger cloth patch. The polyester resin has more flex to it. This will allow the repair to have more flex as the rest of the bumper has.

That's an effort and a half, true labour of love! You guys need to put in a better system for all your waste you wash off your paint jobs. It's going into your grass area where it'll pollute that environment and when it's dry you'll be breathing in the dust particles.

Great job. I wouldn't listen to the clowns that keep asking about buying a new bumper. They know nothing of the art of re-using the same item with the adding of talent and time.
