As a fellow cosmetologist, I appreciate that you did only as much as the client felt comfortable. I see a lot of comments saying you should have just cut it all off, but at the end of the day, it is our responsibility to listen to the needs/wants of the client and not simply do what we think is best, if that's truly not what the client wants. It does not matter if the hair would look 1000x times better cut off, if that would result in the client being unhappy. Because at the end if the day, we are in the industry to lift people up and make them feel beautiful (whatever 'beautiful' means to THEM)... not simply do what we want and cause the opposite feeling in our guests.

I totally agree!! And i have never heard anyone say what i say about keeping the integrity of the hair and listening to the client when it comes to how much to cut off to me that is the name of the game for me because i am not comfortable pushing ppl into color or cutting more than they fe is needed.and i am definitely not the one to be choppin and hacking off more than what someone else wanted

One thing I appreciate about you is how comfortable you are with what you do. You aren’t easily phased by a project and as a client I love to see that because it makes me feel like I’m in good hands. I hate when I go to the salon and they start freaking out and saying I got no options but to chop it all off .

@@zoarfreeman4334 I agree. I'm not a fan of the hairstyle. This style will be gone out of my head by the end of the day. It seems like people with damaged hair would do much better with or tighter curl so they won't have to worry about recurling it. It basically has no curls. Just my opinion.

What jet black semi permanent do you suggest that will not damage hair?

Can I just use a booster to lighten my hair without dye? Will that cause damage. I have high porosity fine hair and have used semipermanent blond color. I want to lighten it and hear a booster is all I need. Besides Im 40% grey and want the lightener to help my hair blend with the grey.

Yes, but a rinse would not damage her hair. She might not have been able to do black, but a brown or dark red would have looked better than the blonde ends.

Nope - it's damaged enuff. Let it continue growing out and moisturizing/deep treatment - then she can colir again.

I agree . The rinse would help balance it out a bit .
