Probably the most useful and well-done video on KZbin regarding tool repairs. Thanks for being concise, thorough, with excellent visible video for each step. I believe I can trouble shoot and fix my pressure washer in much less time than if I had watched 15 videos with people talking about repetitive or irrelevant information. I hope you make other videos! Thanks!!

Oh and FYI it was your video that helped me fix my WZRELB 1000 watt inverter that someone threw out. While I don’t have a FLIR camera I did use my laser thermometer to measure the temp of the boards in relation to the other components and sure enough it had fried. Ordered another from the company and bing bang boom it al worked again. So your videos do actually help people in the real world learn and get things done

Great video , thank you. It's good to see that there are still people out there like you that take pride in actually fixing things. Regarding the windings it might be easier if you were replacing copper with copper to measure the length of the old winding and replace it with the same length , allow a little extra maybe 6 inches, a turn more or less won't make any difference. If you are stuck for an insulator you can cut a piece from a frozen dinner tray, the ones that can be heated in a microwave in the tray. They have high heat resistance and are good insulators.

This was an excellent video. Your attention to detail and the proper procedure to get things in order were spectacular. Nobody and I mean nobody rewinds armatures. You did. It's a little bit of a mystery how you got the new armature wire through that small area without losing some of the coating on the wire by scraping but you did it. Wonderful video.

Great video. I find and fix so much stuff that people throw out for simple to fix reasons. I love hard trash day. Even if it’s complex I like to tear down and figure it out. As a Floridian, you probably don't have experience with this, but what kills pressure washers up here in the North is people use them and then stick them in their garage. The body still has water in it. Then, it gets super cold, water freezes and cracks the housing and will never work again without a new housing.
@electronicsNmore

This is an amazing. I have a Simoniz pressure washer S1600 for years, which was working fine until this year. It worked fine for just a few minutes a few weeks ago but the engine has since stopped working. I was able to open the case housing but didn't know how to troubleshoot. I'll follow the procedure you demonstrated with the multimeter. I don't have the skills to go as far as you did, but at least that's a start. Thank you so much.

When my son’s lawn mower needed repairs it was an 8 week wait for carburetor replacement. In all truth, my husband took it apart and replaced all but one part, we just stopped too soon! 😊 I love that YT opens the world of DIY repair to just about everyone.

Really awesome video , very clearly spoken , quick and precise and non-redundant or repetitive. Really thankful for people like this guy for helping out other people with their knowledge and skills like countless others on KZbin but I just wanted to say as I was watching the video and getting ready for what I thought was gonna be my favourite part of the video to watch him actually wind the copper wires around the stater thing (not sure if I remember the name right) to which he said that it would take him a while and then as i was hoping to see it done in fast forward video motion and Wala it was done and I didn’t get to see how that part was done .!so I was going to ask you next time to keep videoing your work and when you upload the video you can just have it going in super fast forward that way we can all see the complete job ( as you had stated in the beginning of the video ) and you can still achieve a quick download of your incredible mechanic and engineering knowledge that seemed like was you intension without missing a part of the process that could be critical in duplicating fixing the issue . With that said thank you very much for your presentation and how you keep the interest of the watcher. This was kind of a mouthful to say a simple thing but hopefully my point is understood and you understand how i Appreciate your sharing and teachings. Blessings and many more classes please teacher .

is the outlet you are plugging it into a GFCI? If so I would rest it it or plug something else into it to see if it is working properly. Did you use a heating source to dry it out or just opened it up and let it air dry? The blow dryer I used worked well bcuz I used in from all different directions. My thought is that it only takes a small amount of moisture to cause issues. Last solution would be to order a new plug for the washer bcuz it does detach itself from the cord. Good luck

A cheap source for magnet wire that can be unwound, re-used, and not ruined with binding epoxy;cut open old fridge compressor metal shell above the seam with a cut-off wheel. Then disassemble motor and unwind the stator. Clean the oil off and recycle the left overs. Most, vacuum cleaners also use a un-windable epoxy free stator winding.

My question; I'm working on one of these greenworks 2000 psi for my boss. I fixed the issue with the pressure (bad o-rings) but it still seems to be dripping from the bottom of the pump, it did this before and after replacing the o-rings. It only leaks when pulling the trigger on the wand, but I cannot find any rhyme or reason for it to leak. It doesn't leak "a lot" maybe a quarter cup's worth of water over an hour. I made sure the surfaces of the pump parts were clean and smooth, everything fit snuggly and tighted the bolts correctly. As indicated above, it leaked like this before I repaired it, and doing the very same thing after i repaired it. Is this normal for this brand? Perhaps some kind of pressure regulation (ie builds too much pressure so it leaks a little out to maintain it?) Thanks for any information you can bring to light!

Thanks for a great how to video. My pressure washer was intermittent and finally gave up. Manually pressing the switch caused the motor to hum but not start, with a wisp of smoke from the switch. Testing the capacitor showed it was u/s . Any idea why the switch would smoke?
@electronicsNmore
@electronicsNmore 2 жыл бұрын
The switch smoked because excessive current was probably flowing across the contacts

I opened up the valves and piston, now it is leaking. Do you know what motor they use for the sun joe spx4600?

Armature was fine, just discolored, the inside of the stator was gently cleaned. Thanks for watching!

My pressure washer is supposed to shut off when the pressure is charged. After purging the line and running it, I never got pressure and the line never charged. What would the problem be in this case?

Could you provide a basic wiring diagram? Or rewiring/reassembly video? Replaced my motor then lost the disassembly photos :(

I got a Simonize 1800 psi electric pressure washer that the motor suddenly stopped working after a few seconds with a loud clunk! It won't even turn on anymore. I've trouble shooted everything and followed all the procedures correctly to start/prime the unit. I've checked hoses, valves, filters, plug receptacles, breaker boxes, and now I'm down to what you had to do in this video. When the motor stopped with a big clunk, would you happen to know what that might have been? (so I can target a specific area. might it be the pump?) but yeah.. motor does not start.

Is it okay to weigh the enamel wire and replace it with exact amount instead of counting?
@electronicsNmore
@electronicsNmore 3 жыл бұрын
Not a bad idea for replacing the exact same size and type of magnet wire, but keep in mind it will be a little heavier because they added varnish over the windings. The turns don't have to be super exact, but very close.

Any idea what caused the short? Were the rotor bearings perhaps worn to the point that it caused the damage? Although it would seem if that were the case then the fix would not last!
@electronicsNmore

Probably a poor winding job that nicked the enamel wire.

After watching your video, I think my problem is the pressure switch. If I bypass it then the motor turns on--it didn't before the bypass. Removing it, fixing it, or finding a replacement may be a problem. Are these switches universal or are they specific to the model?
