1999-2002 S series - Poor ground connection on the small braided ground wire from the ECM to the left strut tower. Solution: Take the ECM mounting bolt that connects the wire out and sand all surfaces and reconnect the braided wire. If that doesn't work try changing throttle position sensor. may work for other makes ???

My avenger says it's idling at 1k rpm at operating temp with a full tank🤣 the keys not in it the cars completely dead can't even lock the doors it acted real stupid so I had to pull over and I thought maby if I turn it off and back on it would be good again but nope I'm thinking it's time for a new alternator and possibly a battery

By disconnecting your battery, you rebooted the computer. An OBD II reader would have likely told you the cause (error codes) so that you could get to the root of the problem. If this happens to you again, get the ODB reader. They pay for themselves real quick.

Wrong, This issue doesn't throw any codes. It only throws codes when you have a faulty sensor. This is a memory problem in the computer which requires a reboot.

Thanx man I've had a lot of problems with my Lexus electrically replaced every sensor etc used the battery trick before for o 2 reset,never thought to check neg terminal to see if it was tight with new battery negative tight so far so good thanks hope it isn't a bad relay.

It will work for a while because you reset the ecu wich is the computer, but if you don't find the real problem it will go right back like that so you will always have to reset as in take off a battery terminal..

CHARLIE DO IT ALL == ^^ I disconnected the Temperature sending unit/temp sense, so How can I test the instrumentation temp gauge in my cars dash board by itself to check if its working correctly, what do I need to do? 1.) How can I test the Pressure of the water pump and the pressure of the radiator while the car is idling and running? I want to know what the pressure is through the radiators hoses and water pump hoses, how can I do this? - 2.) The Water Pump is "increasing" the radiators coolant into the car engine and into the radiator core to increase the flow of the coolant? 3.) How can you test if your radiators hoses and water pump hoses has to much pressure the pressure is to higher than normal operating pressure?

I have a giat grande punto and the first time this happened, it stopped on its own after I turned it off for a could of hours , second time this happened I opened the boot, and where the fuses are located I pushed them down , most of them where quite loose due to bumps , might be worth trying that too and instantly it worked
