the tach itself generally breaks in the dash unit, they cost a ton, leave it. But the speedo works off a cable on most 93s, so check the speedo cable, it's probably broken.

check the connector inside the dash unit, they can get loose and do that, and so can a circuit board on the dash that's burning out.

far as I'm concerned, all saabs belong in a junkyard, the company recently went bankrupt and no one wants to buy them. Ignition takes place with individual ignition coils placed on the spark plug concerned. The plug together with the ignition coil and CDM are used to detect combustion and any knocking. This means that neither a camshaft sensor nor a separate knock sensor are required. Over engineering to the max.

I was going to ask also if both the odometer and the speedometer is not working is this due to the speed sensor also ? 1 more question also if you can reply. My radiator fan turns on automatically when i start my car. Doesn't turn off at all... cars computer seems to be fine everything works. Would it be bad wiring or would it be another sensor problem?

bad wiring going from the sensor to the dash, or more often a bad dash receiving unit on the speed head.

d 4 flashing is a transmission problem code. have it scanned to see what code it is, pray it's a bad speed sensor code.

check the fuses and the wiring connector that goes to the dash, it often gets corroded and loses power.

AP15sub4sub number one problem on that model is a wearing out distributor causing hesitation and eventual non starting. Number two is a carboned up engine, try my video "how to clean fuel injectors on your car"

I have changed the censor and it is still the same, the mechanic said that the connector inside the gear for the censor is what is bad. Is that possible?

since the code reader shows the mileage, either wiring going to the dash or the dash unit is bad. Most guys try a used dash from a junk yard first, last one I did fixed that same problem for 75 bucks when I bartered.

do the test in this video, see if a scan tool read speed. if it does, the dash unit speedo head is bad.

it may or may not work with the computer software. But I've seen it work, give it a try, it can't hurt anything. if it doesn't work, send it back to where you bought it.

some can be reprogrammed using a special computer. Contact your manufacturer to see if it can be done on yours.

Hey Scottie, love your channel! I have a 2002 coachman Miranda that the speedometer moves but goes and stays between 80_90. I had my sister follow me and I was going 45. Would this same fix apply? It's hard to find anything on motorhome repair. I wish you lived closer! Hard to find a good repair shop. Thank you and never stop your videos. You have helped a lot of women know what is going on with their car so they don't get ripped off .

normally just a broken speedo cable on that old thing. Take the dash out, remove the cable from the speedometer head in the dash, and take it for a ride. If the cable doesn't spin when moving, it's broken

In my 1992 civic the speedometer needle went all the way around and is sitting on the notch by 0 mph. If I install a new speed sensor will it go back around or will i have to remove the cluster and manually do it? Thank you!

I'm not sure if my speedometer is acting up or if it's something else. I have a 1995 Acura Integra. The reading of the speedometer seems too high. The speed on the speedometer shows up as 5 to 10 mph higher than it seems. Should i replace the speed sensor? or change the speedometer cluster? what do i do to fix this? Please reply. IF you have the correct size tiers on it, replace the speed sensor, realize wrong size tires will do that too

check the dash fuse, if not that, remove the dash, check the wiring connectors for shorts, pray the dash circuitry hasn't melted down as it often does on chrysler products.

hey scotty, I have a 1995 honda civic. my speedometer works half the time. sometimes it will read correctly. sometimes it stays at 0 and sometimes it jumps all the way past 120mph. would you say more than likely it's the speed sensor?

Mr. Scott I have a 1994 Volvo 940 4 door. Whenever I take it out for a spit it drives well at the beginning it changes gears or shifts to all the way to 40 mph then if I go to the highway certainly I will have to go more faster like 60 mph but the thing is that it doesn't change gears the rpm says that its in 4 or 4 1/2 when I hit 65 mph and I was just wondering if you have any clues what could it be to fix that problem to make the gears change so the car will go 65 mph without any hesitation?
