I found my slowness in file explorer was isolated to one folder because i had turned on via folder properties/Customize 'Optimize this folder for...' and selected movies. Once I changed it back to General items the folder would display immediately like the others.

This immediately fixed the issue I was having for RAW photo files in my folders. I set it from 'pictures' which it has automatically done, and made it 'general items' and the previews loaded immediately. Thank you, Ken!

Nope, didn't work at all for me. I have some quite large music folders and when I open one it can take upwards of a minute and a half to display all the files.

Seems promising. I'll try the steps one by one and test. I would like you to write all the steps under the video, which will be very helpful for us that cannot see very well. Text can be blown up as much as needed, video not.. Solution 1 works fine, but it's a little bit too much work/HARD to find Windows Explorer in a window where the content is constantly moving I tried to make a shortcut to Windows Explorer (C:\Windows\explorer.exe) on the desktop to start it from there. I don't know if it will have the same effect, Do you know if there is a way to check?

Aw my God! On the step 4, in the "General Tab" I clicked on the (Normal Startup), because i saw yours was selected. But mine was the (Selective Startup) selected before. And now I can not start my pc.. It gets me a screen which says: "Windows Boot Manager" Windows failed to start... I want to cry. 😭 how can i fix this now? I need to call my computer technician.

all you had to do was type>> ( Temporary Files ), In the start Menu, and It will Auto delete Temporary files for you, rather then copy and paste.

non above helped me,Pc is only slow when my hard drives shows under: This pc, anyway i have wd 7000 speed and a monster pc. sux :)) Strange how the last update ruin my perfect windows @ the same time they wanted me over to win 11. x570 master has big problems i cant install win 11 even if im a half baked nerd - yes i have done all, but no way it will show a GPT partition when i turn of CSM :( And thats why im stuck for now on win 10 and they updated and ruin win 10 i guess with a SMILE on their face
