How to Fix Flicker Quickly and Easilly - Davinci Resolve 17 Tutorial

Two (and a half) ways to deflicker footage in Davinci Resolve 17. Whether its a timelapse, pwm, florescent, or something else these techniques are quick and easy enough that there's no reason not to give them a try.

Deflicker only works for the paid version. I know the paid isn't a ton of $$ but I'm just wondering if there's a "free" way to do this. Thanks

I shoot 24 in the UK (I know 25 will be better suited to the UK Hz rating but meh...) and have found this plug in invaluable. Often one dodgy 'normal' bulb can tank a shot, but this works brilliantly at eliminating the flicker. Full on LED's are a pain though and if I'm shooting real estate they are off, whatever the agent says. Before studio, I used to eliminate it in the free version by copying the same clip 4-5 times and stacking them with each one moved one frame forward of each other. It worked nicely but ain't nobody got time for that...

This does not work for me. I shot on iPhone 60fps in a PAL country and the carousel lights are going so crazy.

thank you! but duplicate the file and move it one frame in a new channel on 50% opacity will bring better results (in slow mo )

I'm an architectural photographer now starting to shoot drone video of projects. There are lots of vertical lines in the buildings I capture. As my footage moves horizontally the rendered videos (Resolve) have exaggerated jitter. The original 30 fps footage is very smooth as I was flying slowly. I needed to speed up the footage in Resolve. I'm thinking that is contributing to the issue but even the footage left at original speed has the horizontal jitters. I'm rendering at quite high settings and none of them seem to make a difference. Any suggestions? Thanks for your vids!

HUmm, the Deflicker plugin is just available for the paid version of Davinci Resolve, most people use the free one.

Nice. Since I'm shooting in 24 FPS, I changed my off-speed frame rate to 48 FPS. Unfortunately, that caused a flicker with a 180 shutter angle when using some LED lights (in the US). Luckily the deflicker plugin works with that as well. A better fix was to switch to 144 or 288 shutter angle or to stick with 60 FPS for the off-speed frame rate.
