Good way to emphasize your point by using a real face mask in relation to sound/frequency. Genius idea! 👍🏽

is there any free alternatives to find masking problems
@5piece3 жыл бұрын
Can’t say I’ve found any free plugins that expose the issue as easily as paid plugins. However, you could always do it the old school way using your ears and judgement. I used to just take an EQ, crank up frequencies and try to find the pocket where it blatantly masks the other sound. Then I’d cut or do some dynamic EQ similar to this. Unfortunately it’s not fool proof and you really need to tune your ears, but that’s likely the best free option you have. FabFilter plugins are super worth the money though, without question. That being said - hopefully someone else reading this out there knows of something I don’t and can recommend an alternative. Best of luck!

But if the intro is low the vocal is so upfront and when the hooks comes in with the lowend energy and melody the vocal is pushed back. How to dial with this?
@5piece2 жыл бұрын
Not sure I fully follow what you’re saying but sounds like automation is the answer here. Automate your levels, and automate the EQ to engage/bypass to manage these issues. Rarely will you be able to keep things at a set level, or engaged the entire time without consequences. The real art of mixing is in these dynamic moves. Hope this helps
