Thank you for this video. I spent the last 6 hrs thawing my travel trailer and happy to report I was able to unfreeze my water heater w/help from this video.

Thank you!! We don’t normally have problems with freezing lines in Texas, but it seems Mother Nature has decided we should share Canada’s weather. Last February was absolutely BRUTAL! And last weekend, we were below freezing three nights and a day in a row. Thanks, 2022.

Thanks much! Question: might the freshwater tank say empty if they are frozen due to not being able to measure properly? I don’t know if I have water in there or not, but it says empty.
@chickndinner285118 күн бұрын
I can verify this. My gray tank said it was 3/4 full the day before the freeze and said it was empty when frozen.

Appreciate your guidance on this topic. Are there additional steps or considerations when using an accumulator? My lines appear to be unfrozen, but the nipple coming out of the bottom of the accumulator is dripping. Is that a sign of pressure from the ice forcing out the water? Same steps as everything else by just heating up the RV?

This is gold ty!! What about a fridge that stopped working when temperatures were freezing. It’s day 3 here in Texas for record breaking temperatures between 12-29 degrees. I live in a 5th wheel full time that’s converted to all electric. No propane with endless water and electricity hook ups. I winterized my plumbing, however my fridge just gave out. Any advice or a link to share? 🙏🏼

If it doesn't have power you may try resetting the GFCI outlet in bathroom or kitchen.
@HappyHealingwithBeatriz2 жыл бұрын
@@fullmoonadventureclub It has power! It’s on but not cooling since the coils from outside froze.

So... what if you defrost your fresh water tank, faucet and pipes, but water pump makes no noise when using the faucet and nothing comes out? I'm assuming it means there is still a frozen pipe somewhere. But can the long term below freezing temps knock out the water pump fuse, or something like that?

I am new to rv's and had a bad freeze up where it damaged the water heater to where I had to get it welded. Also found a few leaks and fixed them. I must still have leaks because I cant get my new pump to pressurize the system. The only time I can get it to shut off is when I give it pressure from a hose. Question, is it best to run the hose to find the leaks or is there a better way? So far when I run the hose I cant seem to see anymore leaks.
@fullmoonadventureclub5 жыл бұрын
If you can't find any visible water leaks it's possible that your water pump is not functioning properly. They usually have a one-way check valve so water only flows One Direction from the fresh water tank. If this one-way valve is damaged it would never pressure up. With the city water connection or the water pump operating you should find a leak if there is one. If you have no leaks when your city water connection is hooked up then my main focus should be on the water pump itself.

I ran hose water hooked up, bled all lines and turned off the hose, turned on fauset then after the pump turned on turned it back off. Initially the pump turned off, but the more I use it ,it wont turn off again. I thought it was somehow getting air in the lines. But listening to it. It seams more like the tank might be starving for air. Before today, I already bought a brand new pump so I think we can eliminate that as a problem
@fullmoonadventureclub5 жыл бұрын
@@ThermosJuglasPrespotbelly that sounds like a reasonable assumption to me. I would check for Kinks or blockages in your freshwater Tank Lines and of course make sure that the fresh water tank is indeed filled adequately. Is there perhaps a bypass valve somewhere in your system that might be closed

I had a heated hose hooked up and plugged into our motorhome but the receptacle on the power poll failed causing our lines to freeze. I live in the motorhome full time in Missouri and had our furnace on but sadly everything froze. I was able to thaw our heated water hose but still no water getting to our faucets. I've tried a hair dryer where the water hose connects inside but it didn't work my arthritis made it so I couldn't hold it long enough what else can I do? We have a sea breeze motorhome so the water connections are in an outside side compartment

Hi jim i noticed in your last video in the description it says you can run an energy star compliant refrigerator for 33hrs, so if I'm not mistaken if i have enough solar panels and added deep cycle AGM batteries i can get this thing to run day in day out 24/7 (correct me if im wrong).

Continue to heat the inside of the RV with all of the cabinets and drawers open. It's entirely possible that you have a nice chunk that got lodged along the way or that your water pump is iced up or damaged from the ice going through the diaphragm. Make sure you can hear the water pump going. You're also going to want to look out for external showers etc that might be Frozen and leaking that you forget to check. Good luck.
