Got this issue but it’s only on PS2 Menu and Games. DVDs look fine. Started happening after customer used a aftermarket hdmi adapter from Walmart. Think this would fix that as well?

Woah, that PS2 looks so sharp! Almost as sharp as a CRT, how did you managed to obtain an image so clear? Witch cable are you using? RGB SCART or Component? Cause my PS2, when connected to a HDTV with scart it looks so bad and I notice a lot of interferences, but when connected to a CRT it looks like HD! (i know that it's 480i and not 720p but the image on CRT the difference is huge anyways)

Scart cables aren’t always sending RGB or true RGB signals, the best option is to use a component cable. Regarding the picture quality, IMO the best thing to do is to turn off every “image improvement” setting and to turn the sharpness setting down to 0. (Btw since this is a PAL dvd, the resolution is 576i rather than 480i which gives a slightly better picture than 480i)

@@SamSamShine After 9 months i kinda learned most of this by myself xd Btw yeah, the SCART cable can send a component signal too, but it's not a standard, and only like professional CRTs supported that video mode. I'm now using conponent cables on flat screens, they actually look better, on my CRT RGB SCART is the only choice i have, but the best too. I can't really tell the image difference between PAL component and 480p via component tho, apart the interlaced vs progressive thing, which is clearly important for fast moving games on flat panels, but the resolution doesnt seem so different iirc

I discovered that bizarre region protection when I modified my TV for RGB. Sony purposely disable the RED channel just for impose the composhit standard (that is region codified and so they can have full control over imported DVD's). That is ridiculous. Thanks for your information

yeah movie companies are so paranoid they are afraid we're gonna import pirated bootlegs.
@SamSamShine3 жыл бұрын
From what I’ve tested it doesn’t seem to be that the issue, for some reason when you play a dvd with a RGB cable, instead of sending the signal in RGB, it forces the signal to be in Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr and that’s why it’s in green if you use a RGB cable otherwise with a component cable the picture is perfectly fine.
