Hello. I have the same problem you described but with my 2007 MK6 Fiesta. I do not know how to get the plastic grip off the handbrake lever so that I can repair the popped out rod & button - any suggestions? Thank you.

Hello All. I worked out that you need a head gun and gently heat the hand grip and remove with pliers. Then heat the plastic handle and remove. Then remove the plastic back cover. Exposing the metal handle lever.

Hey 🖐 I almost freaking broke off my elbow trying to take that shit off 😡 So the whole plastic cover part is held only with glue where the handle part is or is there still a clip underneath somewhere ? I have to heat it and everything will just slides off ? If everything is held only with glue when it is beyond stupid ... if you will see this and you can still give a few extra words how it went for you I would highly highly appreciate it ☺️

If it's stuck try heat it with heat gun, the plastic will be more soft and you can easily pull out

With brute force. And a right bloody pain to slide it back on
