Just enable the hidden folder option just like he said. Then, in internal storage, search for Android option if you can't see it among the apps. Then go to the WhatsApp folder, then go to the media and delete the .nomedia thing. Then exit and refresh your gallery. The folder will start to restore its WhatsApp media. This is how it worked for me.
