I just wanted to say how grateful I am to have found this video today… my dad recently passed away very suddenly and tragically, and I live on my own. He always taught me to be independent and fix things myself and he used to help guide me through steps on how to change a light fixture, how to caulk my counters, how to do my backsplash, how to replace my bathroom vent fan… but now that hes gone I am so beside myself and lost. I thought maybe I would throw some terms into google and see what I can find for help.. imagine my surprise and comfort finding “just a dad” video showing me step by step how to fix my coffee machine myself… I was able to do it all in 15 minutes tonight thanks to you. I can’t tell you how much comfort this brought me tonight.

Fantastic videos. I fixed my Keurig!! I even passed your video onto someone who had the same issue! I would mention that there are two plugs at the front of the Keurig (where the lid shuts down). Your machine didn’t have this! You need to put a screwdriver in there to get it loose. I suspect it’s to make it easier to disassemble. I just want to mention that in case anyone else has that on their Keurig. I am so grateful to you for this perfect video!

I was sceptical of this fix, because the Keurig isn't meant to be disassembled. Having said that, I followed the video step by step and the reset worked perfectly, saving me over $100. Thank you, Thank you! Be aware that this fix is not for people who consider themselves "unhandy". It requires basic mechanical skill with tools.

A great instructional video on how to fix this well known Keurig issue. That is, well known outside of kuerig support lol. I spoke to kuerig support they said they have never heard of this descale overheating issue. Yet I’ve had this happen on two machines and with two calls to kuerig support both times company denied knowledge of the issue. Very descriptive and excellent results. We did, however, CAREFULLY plug the unit in before completing the re-assembly. You said one would feel or hear a click on the thermostat as we pushed the paperclip and we did indeed.Plugged in and NO GO! Unplugged and tried the thermostat push click again. Thanks for the helpful video! Since I was breaking a few clips, I decided to drill a hole in the side of the cover, while I had it off. This way, if it happens again, I can just unplug it and reset it without needing to take it apart. Thanks again!

Dude, your a life saver! After watching your video, I figured out a hack. You'd only need to remove the top panel. I used a 10" long 90 degree pick to reset the thermal fuse. Works like a dream...

After I removed the top I could see the thermal switch so I got a paper clip and used it to make an attachment with the paper clip bent to a 90 deg angle and attached it to a narrow longer common screw driver by taping it to the shaft. I could then Slide it down inside the unit and depress the thermal unit. Your video is great. I'm considering doing what others have drilling a small hole in alinement with thethermal unit.

My "Add Water" didn't come on during the descaling process and I pressed the go button one too many times, basically running it dry. Then, the unit shut down and I smelled electrical smoke. Knew right away why it happened and immediately thought I ruined it for good. For some reason I google searched the issue and a reddit blog popped up with a number of posts. One post had a link to your KZbin video. A half hour later, my Keurig was good as new. You sir are a reason why KZbin is great. Thanks very much for making a very succinct yet informative video.

Likely a safety issue. If there's a real problem causing it to trip, it could melt something or maybe start a fire. Just thought because it would be a lot cheaper to put an external reset button than sending out a new unit.

This video did the trick for me. As a production xerox field engineer all I had to hear was “3 screws, 6 tabs and reset the thermostat”. Already ordered the new cafe after I was mad at myself. After removing the reservoir while making coffee this morning (yes, I know, stupid move) our Kuerig died. I suspect it air locked and the coil overheated and threw the breaker. I watched this video a while back and it worked great. About a year later the reset button popped again. Had to come back to this video again to figure out how to reset the damn thing. Sure am grateful for this guy to post this video! I subscribed because he's so good at explaining things.

I am truly grateful for your clear and concise instructions. After the descaling process our Keurig no longer worked. We were pleasantly surprised after a reset to the thermostat to see the power light come back on. Thanks to you we can enjoy our Keurig once again.
