Thankyou, my boys 85cc back brake locked up was due to this adjuster vibrating upward....we let the pressure off via bleed nipple which freed the brake but no pressure and wouldn't bleed, rebuilt master cylinder and still wouldn't bleed......this worked for us. Thankyou

@@deanmathews2005 yea ktm got them bled out and charged me 90 bucks to do it! Oh well least the kid has brakes now. And a new clutch. Now kid 2 ran her bike out of oil so now I'm tearing into a kawasaki in my free time. Pretty sure the piston is siezed.

There are a lot of people with KTM Freerides which also have the brake master/caliper pair on the 85sx and are wondering why they aren’t getting pressure after some maintenance or after the pad wears down a bit. This is the fix. Excellent video.

If you got the same exact problem but for the front brake? Like no pressure at all, just a mushy break and pistons that won't extend because of the low pressure?
@Yuuiiytrfbh Жыл бұрын
I’ve done that a million times but I still don’t have any brake. I’ve bled it, reverse bled it, fluid comes out of the bleeder valve when I pump the brake, but there is no effect on the brake pads. Any ideas of what it could be?

I’m getting the same results with my front brake lever stroke, no pressure and it does have an adjustment screw on it similar to the adjustment on your rear brake.
@deanmathews20054 жыл бұрын
Just saw your comment, this sounds like possibly you need to rebuild the master cylinder.
@shinedown94714 жыл бұрын
Dean Mathews I get no pressure or fluid to move on through the caliper, while pulling the lever, rez is full, bleeder closed, build pressure (pull lever) open bleeder...nothing. Tried forcing fluid to the caliper back up to the master...nope nothing. The pads are worn down but not totally done, still about 3/32” of material?

When you press the pedal, the piston press the pads against the disc, should it goes back in after? Mine doesnt seems to slide back in
@deanmathews20055 жыл бұрын
Hi, are you talking about the pads going back in? If so, no the pads stay in light contact with the rotor, this is normal.
@oasisoasis215 жыл бұрын
@@deanmathews2005 ok so the piston pushing the pads against the rotor isnt going back in when brakes isnt applied?
@deanmathews20055 жыл бұрын
@@oasisoasis21 Sorry for the late reply. So, the piston will "go back" just a fraction of a mm when the brakes are not applied, you will not really be able to see this. It can generally be felt as you try to spin the wheel, as you let off the brake. You will feel it more in the free spinning of the wheel than seeing it in the rotor. What problem exactly are you having?

Jesus Christ, you pushed the pistons in to install the pads. Just pump the brake until the pistons get pushed back out. I swear y'all make problems when there was none
