Thank you for the informative video. I have concluded there is a loose connection with my power button, seeing as how the Novo button turns on my laptop when I thought it didn't work anymore. Hi Simon, Thank you for the video. Today i plugged the power cable to USB port instead of power port in my Lenovo U31-70.After that my laptop is not powering on. Do you think the power port replacement will help me? or I need to change the motherboard

Healthy & Yummy I don't really know but it will be cheaper to change the power board first. Maybe if you can buy from somewhere that accepts Returns. you could try and send it back.

theres a small rest button next to the earphone socket on the left hand side, you'll need a pin or sim tool, press and hold it for 30 secs, it fixed my flex 2-14 with power light but wouldn't turn on

@@kencoloma3159 try without the charger, i can't remember if i had the charger in or just on battery, i will say this method sorted my laptop straight away 1st try, i'd suggest that perhaps you have a deepr issue that a rest won't fix if you try with and without charger with no results...

Laptop won't power on with or without battery.when i press power on button,lights blinks once. Charging is fine and charging light also turn on when i connect to charger. Also try Draining static charge procedure

This looks like it could possibly be my problem. When plugged in, the power light on the side comes on. When I push the power button, the backlit keyboard comes on for a split second and then turns off again. No response elsewhere. I've tried taking the battery out to reset it but that didn't change anything. Any idea what it could be?

Alex By power light, did you mean the light under the button or the light that shows if the computer is on? Edit: I tried it and it didn’t work

As a Tech myself... I would not even let that bubblewrap anywhere near the internals of the laptop, especially when you are not grounded... talk about static charge built up on you and it frying the sensitive internals... you wont notice right away in most cases but rarely does it completely fry it to the point of needing a whole new mb.... so, yeah... just wanted to let you know about a few mistakes you made.... lol.

the pink plastic is an anti-static bag. the bubblewrap is def. not anti-static... please be careful especially posting a video where if someone is new to troubleshooting and repair... they can fry their system. Should add a disclaimer to your videos when not properly grounded. one thing that is goo though... you're not on carpet.
