First, THANK YOU SO MUCH for doing this video, DeathScouter. I just ordered my replacement battery and having looked at the outside of the laptop, it wasn't obvious how to get to the battery other than (as you did) start unscrewing stuff. Totally appreciate what you did there. And, to Lenovo, in case they ever read these comments: What were you thinking??? Making us disassemble so much to simply replace a battery? AHHH... you don't actually consider the battery to be a "customer replaceable unit" according to the PDF user guide. That's another pretty questionable design decision... I'm pretty sure I could assemble a desktop system faster than digging into this laptop. Sigh. For those trying to find a battery, Amazon has laptop batteries... Search for battery for lenovo flex 2 15

This was really helpful for my old laptop which refuses to start. Can you tell us which screw driver are you using to unscrew Al those screws.

I bought a set of these from Radio Shack back in 1985 and they've saved me 100 times over. The same set is available at a variety of places, but here's a great deal.. www.harborfreight.com/16-piece-precision-screwdriver-set-4143.html

can i use this laptop without the battery I'll just plug the charger will it work?
@neros12774 жыл бұрын
You can use a laptop without the battery as long as it is connected to the power brick and an outlet. but if the plug comes lose at all by just enough your system will turn off and can damage files and the OS even. you can use it without the battery in it as along as you make sure that the power cable never comes loose.

hi, I'm thinking of getting a very similar battery off Amazon. How has the new battery performance been? I found that the stock battery was very poor in terms of battery life for the day (I got about 3-4 hours max on the stock battery).

My battery has done well. The OEM lasted me for about 4 -5 years. I am now replacing it.

Hey guys. For this model can anyone suggest the SSD drive I can replace in the CD drive? I'm interested in doing this also. Moreover, has anyone added RAM to this computer?

Thank you so much for sharing! Lenovo is worthless after the warranty expires! They won't even give me the part number for the replacement battery. UGH! Which brings me to my question, how did you know which battery to get? Did you take apart your laptop to get the part number? The user guide lists 5 possibilities. Or were you smart enough to keep record, unlike myself who can't find my original paperwork and I'm not sure the part number is listed on it anyway. Also, where did you purchase a new battery and how much did it cost? Thanks again for posting...you're a huge hep!

My original battery lasted for about 5 years. When it was time to change the battery, I did a simple Google search and also took a look at the back of the computer model to make sure it was the right battery.

I replaced the battery fine, but I screwed-up the keyboard. I watched your video several times before I began. You said that the keyboard was held in "simply by these little clips". You did not point to, nor remove the center screw on the back. When I got the "little clips" unfastened, the keyboard seemed to stick in the middle when I tried to lift it. I watched your video again and you seemed to have no problem lifting your keyboard so I thought there must be some kind of small slip catch and proceeded to move it slightly to dislodge the bind. I finally realized that I had left the middle screw in on the back. When I flipped the unit over and removed the center screw, the keyboard was freed, by alas, the damage was already done. Next time, video the entire process so that the lesser experienced of us do not make this simple, stupid mistake!

@Antonio Palladino Thanks for the advice. I am planning to upgrade to the backlit keyboard and do not want any unexpected damage! Also thinking of upgrading my battery. Did you notice any improvements in performance in the battery life?
