Omg. Thank you so much! I was stuck on the molding around the key! I did not realize that I could just pry it off!

This video was a life saver. I was very confused about the plastic around the metal key. Thank you for this video.

Most people file the key shaft slightly so you wont have the crack at 4:12

Here's the link: a.co/d/78zpybM Glad this helped! I do have to add, this new key fob is starting to crack as well. I suppose you get what you pay for. It still works for now but eventually I'll have to get another replacement.

@@holycrapimawesome Thank you so much for sharing the link! The dealership’s price is crazy, so I will definitely try this product! I don’t mind replacing it every couple months. 😊

@@holycrapimawesome How long did you have it before it started to crack?
@holycrapimawesome10 ай бұрын
@blockmasterscott It was less than a year for sure but probably around 6 or 7 months if I had to guess

did you see the difference in that screw? your old one is a flat bottom machine screw with fine threads. the one that came with that is a course thread screw and has a point, it is a wood screw. this is the same BS I have just ordered and it's not going to work for long man, that gap is the first sign this is is not right. I dont have my old screw, it was lost when the case broke.
@user-ej1yx4rw3y Жыл бұрын
so with the old screw it wouldn’t have the gap? i have my old screw and i’m going to order this but i was wondering if i will have the gap with the old screw

Ours is still working but it broke right away, the only reason it is still working Is I keep taking it apart and super gluing it. also it doesn't really work properly because the enclosure is just a little too high an dthe buttons are further down than the stock one. so you have sort of poke the corner of the tip of your finger down in there @@user-ej1yx4rw3y

@@user-ej1yx4rw3y I ended up having to carve the inside out a bit and reconstruct it so a threaded screw could be set to go in both front and back and have continuous threads to hold the thing together, I used abs plastic and superglue and the baking soda trick. and I used a dremmel to do the carving. it was a huge pain in the a$$. it works but not really that well and it looks like hell inside. LOL sucks the china reproduction is not better than it is. I think what they do is just try to make it LOOK like it will work for pictures well and they don't really give a poop after you buy the thing.

That's funny my new housing also came with a bigger screw! Wtf.

@@eurosonly ours is still holding together but I have to repair it ever so often and I m betting it;s going to fall apart again soon. we only have the one fob. I am not paying 259.00 for a key for this car. aint happening.

Oh thats awesome! I cant beleive I got town and country keys for 13$ each for the minivan and they work just like the OEM ones. Dealer charges 290$ for one key. LMAO!
