thanks - just got one . saved me taking it apart . one reviewer did some tough testing with his , it got shaky ,and he speculated it might have some sort of 2 part tang . --good review

Good job! Nice video, should be a very useful knife. The full tang surprised me. I may grab one and rebuild it preemptively before it fails. I love useful budget blades! 👍

Thank you for telling us you made the middle pin flush. My brain started screeching when I saw it sunk in.

Will do. This budget blade is unexpectedly better than I thought. I have bashed this thing even off camera and I can't break it. Lol. With normal use I believe someone could get years of use out of this knife.

I have r he Ridge Runner Denali. I've been very pleased with it. I haven't put it thru it's paces like you but for what I need it for, it's great! I've wondered if it was a true full tang or not. Your video just answered my question!!! Thnx J, great video!!!

A very informative video, thanks! I have a Ridge Runner Denali Bowie that is advertized as full-tang, but upon inspection it looks like it is probably a rat-tail. The metal that is sandwiched by the handle looks like it is part of the handguard. I'm tempted to take it apart to see.

@@fit4knives882 I’ve been watching a bunch of your video the last couple days. Your test on the Schrade Leroy actually kept me from buying it to test it myself hahaha.

Looks good and you didn't have to peen the guard . Throwing knives is a good test of steel strength and tempering IMO . What is the temps down there in Texas ? Have a great week John and thanks for sharing .

It was a pretty easy procedure. The pommel is actually welded or soldered on. This cheap knife keeps surprising me. Weather is cooling off down here a bit. In the 40's lows to 60's highs. Always a pleasure. Have a good one my friend.

Pins are supposed to be a real mechanical connection. I usually suggest peening a crown on the ends to really hold it together. Essentially those pins are mostly decorative since they don’t hold the scales together.
@fit4knives882 Жыл бұрын
I agree. I was afraid if I peened a crown on the pins I may crack the scales. Good news the epoxy is still holding strong. Thanks for sharing.
@finbarscanlonwolf Жыл бұрын
That looked like a couple of drops of super glue is all they used. I'd put a little spot weld on the guard.
@darrellfortune8776 Жыл бұрын
well done sir .but I was thinking ya know that very hard kydex type plastic material that is measured to the wood scales like on the iron eagle it's attached to the handle tang before the wood scales that seems to prevent the rattling an loosening the best like the rubber washer under the hot cold nobs on a sink .
@saliston Жыл бұрын
no wonder why it went loose those pins are way to small for the holes.
@totallyrandomstuffandrevie96092 жыл бұрын
Soldier, braze, or weld the guard, should be done by manufacturer.
@marksaint29362 жыл бұрын
Well, a little extra work in China and this knife might take years of hard use without fail.
