Wow! Thank you so much for putting this together. I bought a Miele washing machine and it came with a ten year, in home warranty... three years after purchase it stopped and displayed the F53 code. I called Miele, turns out that they do not have any service in my area and none of the local appliance repair folks would touch it. I talked Miele into sending me a set of brushes and after watching your video I fixed the thing myself. It wasn't hard, but it would have been had I not found your video. Miele didn't even send me a new brush cartridge, only the brushes so I had to disassemble, clean and reinstall the unit that holds the brushes also. Thanks for the awesome accurate information!

I just found your video. I am a 67 year old grandma with very little money and I almost cried, when my Miele stopped working. I did find a video especially for my model, bought the brushes without the cartridge and installed them. Lucky for me, I had found one, that explained it almost as good as you. I actually managed all of it, except for the current leading plug with the two black wires, which fell apart. I did stick it back together and pushed the wires in, but I guess, that didn't really work. The machine did start ( to my intense surprise), but as soon as the drum was supposed to turn for the first time, I got 53 again. I have now ordered a new plug and will try again. I will keep your video at hand, because your explanation and demonstration is great. I hope I get it working again.

Good morning great video I don’t see too many Miele’s in my area to service, but now I may be able to do that repair. Thank you so much. Have a great weekend.

Thank you! This is a super helpful video and contains a great tip to release the brushes once the main holding part is installed. For those of you with a Classic Miele 5740 like us - note that this model doesn't require the top or top front panels to be removed to get into the brush compartment.

Thank you man🙏 your video was the only one which showcases every single detail to get it working. Im glad i found this video after all the others because i still had the f53 error although i replaced all. Then i saw the part where you said the part must be set perfectly which i got working after 2-3 times. Now all work

Before connecting the connector on the motor, measure with a ohmmeter between pin 3 and 4, where there should be low resistance in the anchor and carbon brushes. Also measure low resistance between pin 5, 6, 7 there is the field winding. Pin 8-9 is also low resistance. It is a thermal switch. Pin 1-2 should be around 200-300 ohm. It is the tacho generator for the speed sensing.

i am changing these brushes every 3 month (one brush basically) . Motor collector seems good, without scraches, all ather nice. Any ideas ? Thanks !

There is nothing else that would causes the brushes to wear out that fast . You might replace complete motor assembly next time and it should last couple years . Also is it 50hz or 60hz motor maybe it’s connected to wrong electrical system . lol

What is the purpose of those carbon brushes?
@montiacpontana41 Жыл бұрын
The motor gets its power through the brushes, it's a wear item.
