Aloha, before I pressed the F10 key, I pressed the CTRL+ALT+DEL key to reboot the laptop. When I pressed the F10 key, I entered in the laptop BIOS setting, if you don't have a HP PC or laptop you need to press the correct key for your PC or laptop to enter in the BIOS settings. But the 2 lines are repeating... i have made notebook hard drive as the boot order... but pressing f9 does not shows the notebook hard drive.... it shows optical hard drive and notebook ethernet

You should look in advanced menu, in every BIOS there is a boot order menu.....from there you can change the boot order (HDD, optical drive, LAN, FDD, USB flash drive etc) otherwise you can't install /reinstall the operating system if every time the PC is booting from the HDD. Aloha, there could be many reason for this error. In my case was the ribbon cable. 0. Bad BIOS settings - reset your BIOS settings to the default settings 1. Damaged boot sector/operating system - you need to correct, but in most case it easiest to reinstall the operating system 2. Damaged HDD - could be bad sectors or bad electronic board on the HDD 3. The HP ProBook 6540b has a 2.5" SATA HDD, the HDD connector is soldered directly to the motherboard. So you don't have a DD00T1HD116 cable. If you have the same error like in my video, then pr your HDD has bad sectors in the booting area or your operating system booting files are damaged. You need to scan your HDD for bad sectors, HDD integrity or try to reinstall the operating system. If you have a normal mechanical HDD, I suggest to upgrade to an SSD. Unplug the power cable, remove the battery, press the power button for 20 seconds, plug in the power cable, power on and press repeatedly the F 10 key 2. unplug the power cable, remove the battery, remove the HDD, press the power button for 20 second, plug in the power cable, power on and press repeatedly the F10 key 3. unplug the power cable, remove the battery, remove the HDD, remove the BIOS battery if you have access to it, press the power button for 20 second, plug in the power cable, power on and press repeatedly the F10 key 4. unplug the power cable, remove the battery, remove the HDD, press the power button for 20 second, plug in the power cable, power on and try to press repeatedly from the left from the ESC, 1, 2, 3......DEL key, restart the laptop from every unsuccessful try. Aloha, this is only one of the possible fix, in my case was the ribbon cable. If you have important data, then you need to send to a data recovery center. or you can try yourself (but you can loose for good the data from the HDD) 1.replace the data cable 2. try to mount the HDD with an 1.8 Inch HDD to SATA Adapter Converter Board 3. replace the electronic board from another HDD electronic board I wish you good luck with the recovery PS.You can upgrade your mechanic HDD to an SSD kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWmqm35ml7l_jMU

Aloha, in this video the HDD is a 1.8" HDD and it has a "ribbon" cable and the end of the cable was damaged, it didn't make full contact and that's why I got that error message. I also encountered a loose SATA data cable and a loose SATA power cable and the operating system did not load or after a while I got a blue screen. Hi, if your laptop is same as in the video, the HP Compaq nc2400, then : Step 1: test your HDD with the "HDD Self Test Option" from the BIOS kzbin.info/www/bejne/bIS0qXl4oq6Sb6Msi=OZSjUobL62ZT_9rZ , if you get some error you can try the "Disk Sanitizer" (you will loose all your data from the HDD) from the BIOS kzbin.info/www/bejne/bIS0qXl4oq6Sb6Msi=OZSjUobL62ZT_9rZ or try to low level format with an external program (you will loose all your data from the HDD) Step 2: if you don't see your HDD, check your HDD cable like in this video, maybe is a loose cable, imperfect connection Step 3: if after you check your cable and everything is OK, and still you don't see your HDD, then probably your HDD is bad, you have to replace the HDD or go to PC service. If you have 1.8" HDD and you don't have tools to test it, then you can upgrade your optical disk drive with a ODD caddy and put a SSD or 2.5" laptop HDD kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWmqm35ml7l_jMU If your HDD is a 2.5" SATA HDD, then you can connect to a desktop PC and test it there.
