I just binge watched all your stair repair videos. They are by far the most helpful ones I’ve found on the internet… and I spent a lot of time looking!!!!!! Thank you for these!

If you have already strong stringers - but are too wide 24”- is it plausible to run a bridge 2x6 between them to reduce stair sag/bounce.

How do you figure out the dimensions of the triangle to cut and fit onto the 2 x 6 x6ft lumber? ❤

Hi, great video, thank you. Hello from the UK!. Quick question, we have exactly this type of stairway from our kitchen down to our garden. Last week when I went up the stairs it gave way substantially over on the fence side. I'm wondering how I can access the stairs to fix it without the whole thing collapsing. I was thinking possibly getting underneath to strengthen the structure with a jack before I can get on to the staircase. Thanks, Mark

Hi, just came across your video, my question, if you add the 2x6 to the outide of the stairs for support, can you instead add it to inside ?
@stairbuilding Жыл бұрын
I would think so in most cases.

Awesome. Now I have a question, what do you recommend if the entire staircase fell from (got separated from) the deck due to wood rot on the part where the stringers are screwed in to the deck.
@stairbuilding4 жыл бұрын
If you can fix the problem by attaching the stair stringers back to the deck, then that would be the easiest repair. If this doesn't make sense, email me some pictures of your problem and I'll see if I can help. You can get our email address at our website.

Hi Greg, I tried to email you but it said it wasn’t an existing email. What’s the best way to contact you? I’d love to get your thoughts on a steep staircase project I have.
