I had a really bad set of scratches (much worse than video) from moving a refrigerator by myself sideways through a door on my brand new lifeproof flooring which isn't so life proof BTW, and I was worrying about it for a few weeks while I was finishing the other interior stuff in my new home. I purchased the old english dark wood scratch cover and am still amazed how well it covered the scratch. You absolutely cant see it and this is vinyl flooring. I really appreciate the poster. He did a great job and really saved me time and $$.

Enjoyed your repair video, it was very much real life. I saw a professional one on Pergo and the guy was using a track saw. I have every tool known to man and don’t own a track saw, so thanks for making it simple. How about a complete installation of new flooring? I just installed some pergo outlast and the written instructions I tried to follow and “no way”! Thankfully I found some videos that confirmed the way I did it on my own was right. I’m sure you would do a great new install video since you live in the real world, not a laboratory where everything goes right. Your challenge when the new board was slightly smaller, used the mallet to scoot it into place. I widened an opening going into my attic and now have to replace 2 or 3 brand new laminate floor boards I just installed before we decided to move a 34” love seat through a 28” opening. Thanks for your help, keep them videos coming, I subscribed and liked this one

Thank you so much for this excellent tutorial. I do have another question though. Recently we had a hot water leak and the water ran over and under the flooring. We now have some really bad looking floorboards. Once we rip out the damages according to your methods do we need to cut out the foam underlayment. I'm concerned about mold. Thank you for all of your advice and examples.

Wow, thanks for this video. I have 2 damaged planks in my living/ dining room and all the companies (5) that I have contacted to see if they can repair have said that the entire floor needs to get redone. All of it!! Yeah right- it’s just $$$ they want from me and I call major BS- they said they can’t replace individual planks- KZbin is loaded with videos showing otherwise and this video is great, proof that it’s totally possible. Wish this guy was in Chicago to do my floor 🥲. Anyone from here with suggestions of anyone who does this type of job?

NEVER shoot vertical video. It only looks okay (more or less) on your phone. It looks like crap anywhere else. You can turn your phone to watch a horizontal video. You cannot turn your laptop, desktop or TV screen to watch a vertical video. Apart from holding the phone the wrong way, it is a great video with detailed explanation.

Cut about 1/4" to 3/8" all around the perimeter of the room completely along each wall. Then wait about a half a day or overnight. The pressure forcing the boards upwards will be relieved and the floor should settle/flatten out. I've successfully done this a couple times. Afterwards finish off work adding quarter round molding to hide the cut be sure not to nail the quarter round straight down, but rather through the quarter round and into the wall. I use a multi tool to make the cut around the perimeter of the room. Good luck ✌️
