You can skip a lot of steps there and just make the clips a compound clip then render in place. It will then put a new file that will be pre- rendered when you do you final render and your computer will process it just like any other video clip. People do this a lot with heavy Fusion work, but it works on any clip in the timeline.

Yep, you can definitely go that direction if you want. I like to tweak with the clip in question, and that's smoother and easier without having my audio plugins present, which is why I use the technique shown in the video. Thanks for watching and sharing your workflow!

I have wondered why my Davinci will just shut down for no apparent reason. Thanks!

Thanks for the video. I have had recent rendering problems with one project in resolve, where the program would crash mid-render, particularly when trying to use the Vimeo preset. Because I've had some success rendering out as an h.264 master, but then the file size is huge, maybe I should take that h.264 master file and import in to resolve on a new timeline and try rendering out at the Vimeo 2160 preset???

Yeah, that should work- give it a shot and let me know if it does!

Why don't you just use the "Render in Place" feature for such problematic clips?

You could do that - just make sure that the selected codec (and I think resolution) is set right, since Resolve will use that in the final render. Thanks for asking!
