Great point about the sitemaps! I was using Yoast exactly similar to how you recommended NOT to do it. The question is, is it okay to delete all the sitemaps already there on Google Search Console and replace them only with the necessary ones? Does that mix things up for Google or will Google be able to handle it?
@RankYa Жыл бұрын
Just do IT. Does that mix things up for Google? NO Will Google be able to handle it? YES Will it be better? Absolutely. Thanks for following RankYa :-)

@@RankYa Hello RankYa! I have taken it upon myself now to get rid of the Yoast Sitemap which has everything I don't need. But what is a better way (for an e-commerce store) on Woocommerce to do it? Any recommendations? And what xmls do you suggest I go with? 1- Posts (blogs) 2- Products 3- Categories? 4- Anything else? :) Would appreciate if you can continue with the help as i am in process of doing this for our 3 wordpress wocommerces as well to solve the MESS of xml yoast generated.... Thank you again for your generous help.

Yoast SEO Plugin in 2024 is simply JUNK (99.9% useless features) (I do however use it (after disabling 99.9% of its features) because I have many custom codes which hook in to it)). XML Sitemap Generator for Google is popular WordPress XML Sitemap plugin and maintained regularly wordpress.org/plugins/google-sitemap-generator/ Another suggestion is this: There are many XML (Application programming interface) Sitemap generators online. For example: www.xml-sitemaps.com/ which you can use to generate a file AND THEN upload that sitemap.xml file on the server (you could do this IF your WooCommerce Products are NOT changing often). This way you would have clean XML File *always available on the server*. For WordPress WooCommerce built sites. In Google Search Console just submit posts, pages, products (you will save time analyzing errors, and also, you will see what's important in Google Search Console). P.S I've created 2 brand new courses ('Google Search Console Crash Course' and also 'SEO for the Future') which will be published on RankYa blog Courses Section www.rankya.com/courses/ within couple of days. I highly recommend it as it will ensure RankYa followers get the results they deserve and also be ready for major changes Google is already began implementing.

Best practice is to deliver your on-page to Google with the Full Picture and indexing occurs within 5 hours. I’m surprised so many seo experts are having indexing issues. Give Google the Full Picture and indexing will be superfast.

Whatt about the not indexing in all sites? In my site i have 150k non indexing pages in "All know pages" tab. Do i need to clean it somehow? Great video by the way!
@RankYa Жыл бұрын
Hi Gianakos, the answer is *NO* for "All known pages" it is normal to have Google seeing many different URLs for a given website. As long as ALL SUBMITTED PAGES can be indexed, your website has no problems. Once again, simply ignore errors for "all known pages" in your case.
@SanjivKhanse Жыл бұрын
Should you have a category sitemap?
@RankYa Жыл бұрын
Most cases *NO* because Google will most certainly find the category links. The only question to ask is *does the URL I want Google to index have _unique useful and original content_ if so, yes, use category sitemap because that is the answer to your question.

This was quite resourceful. One question though, the sitemap filter on my search console is grey (Showing only "All Known Pages", do you have any ideas of how I can fix it?
@RankYa2 жыл бұрын
You can not fix that Nairobi. Basically, whenever a settings not availabe, simply ignore it as its either not relevant to the URL in question OR Google doesn't have enought data to show

Wow What tricks , fine i have a doubt you sitemaps showing discovered url are 220 but in pages not indexed urls are 1.4k how is it possible is there any trick for that
@RankYa2 жыл бұрын
Hi there, there are no tricks when it comes to Google. The new search console Page indexing reports tell you *about indexing* of a website. Usually it is the incorrect XML sitemaps which includes all of the generated URLs on a site. To avoid most Page indexing errors, ensure to submit only important URLs that you want Google to index. developers.google.com/search/docs/crawling-indexing/sitemaps/large-sitemaps

suddenly my website no indexing any single page, may i know why its happening like this?
@RankYa2 жыл бұрын
Most likely incorrect setup, or, server error, or the site is sending NOINDEX directive to Google

In My FAQ schema there is duplicate field "FAQ page" How to resolve this problem
@RankYa2 жыл бұрын
Remove the duplicate field (whether it is for FAQ page or others) (if you are using a Schema Markup plugin, then, you probably need to modify the code). Basically, this is a common issue *duplicate field* with untested setup found Structured Data plugins.
